Is it just me or does the event generator creates a bit more than just ramdom tracks and oponents ?
I was minding my own business exiting the corner before the long straight followed by the corner/counter-corner sector in seattle full course with the clk race car and in front of me was this nismo 270R. Well the exiting wasn´t brilliant could´ve been a few kph faster but it wasn´t chaotic either so I was thinking "gonna pass him now". Full gas and ...nothing :odd: till the end of the straight. I mean the "stock" 270R has 264hp is heavier, it only has more torque. A fully tweaked will still be heavier will still lack hp (43xxhp) and of course will have a lot more torque. While the torque thing and the "hard" level can create some theories consider this: next thing I was racing in pro event ang guess who got the silver cup in front of a VECTOR WIEGERT W8 TWIN TURBO imprezas a chimera and others - a... Tommy kaira zz-s coupe

To this I say: (at least) that vector without the turbos and a tyre could go faster than a zz-s coupe with a f-22 turbine.
Who knows maybe the car had Tajima´s spirit in it or something

Actually, the AI can't drive the Vector W8 well at all. It's a great car in human hands, but the computer just can't do it, for some reason.

Get this, it's got 600+ hp, thus it sneaks into the ~591hp MR race at Red Rock Valley, but you can beat it with a fully-tuned '86 MR2, '99 Toyota MR-S, Tommy Kaira ZZIII, or almost any MR car under 300hp. Of course, beating the GT40 is another matter.

My feelings are that the AI physics were modeled around the GT40s; the computer does a great job with both versions, for some reason.

But I've never come across any AI "boost" in the Event Generator. The cars don't seem to try very hard; even if you sandbag with a slow car, the computer still selects even slower machinery.

The Gt40 is definitly a AI favourite - in gt all stars or gt world champ if the car is in the oposition it usually is the 1st or 2nd thoughest oponent.

As for the event thing I just think its cheesy; I mean you can picyure - in a very virtual reality delusion - that the "guy" driving the zz-s coupe was very good or we can say that the AI can´t drive some cars all that well.
1st of all that´s bad. Now - to an extent - some cars are more easy to control and some slowness in unstable car could even be considered a good detail bla bla bla but come on a zz-s coupe :irked: don´t get me wrong I like the car.
The stock chimera would easily overwhelm an upgraded zz-s, the imprezas besides the power have good handling. All right PD had lots of cars to program but it is a considerable "bug". The AI should drive according to the potencial of the car - that´s sim. If not we´re getting into Japanese cartoons territory - the zz-s lone wolf with the hat covering the eyes driver... don´t get me wrong on this one either I happen to like some Japanese cartoons too.

I just started doing Event Generators finally (a million years after everyone else I guess, but wtf) and my first impressions are:

1. I dig the selection of cars, which is way more random than any sim race by far.

2. The ease of each race seems wildly inconsistent. I entered a Dodge Charger into a hard*race, and while it wasn't really all that hard (by my standards) I noticed the other drivers were at least trying to keep a good pace. The computer gave me Apricot Hill reversed. So I decided to experiment, and entered the same Charger with the same power in an easy race. The computer gave me the Test Track this time. In my test run, I could just hit 200 mph. Sweet. I figured that since this race was easy, I would basically be doing a time trial. Not so...the computer entered a Plymouth GTX, a Dodge Challenger, a 3000 GT, a TRD Supra, and another Japanese car I'm forgetting. While the muscle cars fell behind quickly, I had a real challenge on my hands against the 3000GT and the TRD, and the 3 of us drafted each other just like in GT1!!! Fun times, but odd that this easy race was harder than the hard race.
