Ever lost a wheel?

I did do a search and found a damage topic, but I don't think that this was brought up: have you ever lost a wheel in GT3? I have once, maybe twice. It was at the Tokyo track in the Vitz championship in the beginner league. I was sandwiched into the outside wall by another vitz while trying to pass. It stopped me for 5 seconds, then I could drive again. Anybody else experience this? -kevin

By the way, it happened a while ago so I don't have a replay.

I'll try to replicate it then. I know it stops you for about five seconds, but I think the wheel does come off. -kevin

The wheel cannot come off. There is no damage and no code to permit vehicle parts to vanish or wander off of their own volition.

If you were able to continue after 5 seconds, did the wheel detach, go for a trip then return to reattach itself and permit you to continue?

Haha, damage has never been present in GT3 but i have done a little test with my mate on Super Speedway.

Firstly i got into the F1 car and he got into a Mini, we drove opposite ways around the track and crashed at a slight angle, he bounced off into the wall and got stuck. His car was disabled somehow. We tried reversing, accelerating, every possible button combo imaginable but nothing happen to the Mini.

Definately a fluke but thats mabye what happened to you but without the head on crash, You got caught at a certain angle and got stuck.

Yeah, seems like it. I knew there wasn't supposed to be damage but couldv'e sworn the wheel came off. I tried it again and the wheel didn't come off, but seemed like it. The whole car slants like the wheel came off and it stopped for a few seconds. You guys should try it on the last left turn of the Tokyo track in a Vitz. Just get to the right of another Vitz and he should slam into you. Give it a few tries and let's compare results. -kevin

No steering and you kind of slide to a stop. The whole car leans to the right and it'll stop you for a couple seconds if you do it right. -kevin

The wheel did not come off, that much is certain. If the car did slant then it is a mild possiblity that being sandwiched between two cars in that instance pushed part of your car through the road causing you to stop and causing the car to dip. I've never seen or experienced the car going through the road but I know you can force it through certain barriers on some tracks. They are often referred to as breakout zones, but I must stress that I have never once heared of someone breaking out through the track surface itself, so while that may be a posiblity it would be a first and for a game as old as GT3 I am very sceptical about it.

Sounds like you've got a bad connection to your console? Or your controller is going bad? Other than that, I never heard of this...if it's an actual glitch, I can't say for sure.

I do not think it's a glitch, nor do I think it's my console or controller. It doesn't really break through the ground, but it feels like it was deliberately programmed to stop for a few seconds after extreme impact. I am actually pretty sure the wheel never would come off, but I can't tell because the camera view for that corner sucks. I'll try to get better camera angles later. -kevin

I see. And I'm curious.
