looks like something my grandpa would drive.
even if its a sleeper, i'd be embarrased to drive around town with that thing.
In standard trim it produces 250 hp @ 4400 rpm and a massive torque of 500 Nm @ 2800 rpm.
The engine itself hasn't been modified, apart from the new exhaust headers, so its specifications are pretty much standard.

That's roughly 370lb-ft, but with only 250 hp... in 3000 lbs of car. Which means, theorically, that it's marginally faster than a current Mustang GT. Like i said, not exactly a sleeper.

250Hp out of a 6.3 litre V8 is a bit piss poor, when was this engine build/used/designed?

That motor ran 14.5 standing quarters in the 3,800 pound 380SL.

Which means that it could do high 13s, low 14s in that SL... Which i still don't consider to be much of a sleeper.
That, however, is more like it. Roughly 3000 lbs too, but well over 500 hp at the wheels. And street legal!
Sleepers are cars that make insane amounts of power, while looking stealthy... If it had a 600+hp, twin turbo V12 tuned by Brabus, it'd be a sleeper... now it's just a marginally fast roadster. To me at least

Okay - we're talking definitional differences here. I'd be very surprised to see a '68 SL run a sub 14 second standard quarter, so that in my book would make it a sleeper.
