I don't see anything horrible with it though. Care to explain? Mind you I don't know how the D1 judges judge a drift exactly, but it seems to me entry speed and angle gives more pts in the game as it should. You want a horrible points system to judge multiple people? It can't even properly judge a single person.
Maybe implement a skill rating system which calculates x crashes/lap, average points/lap etc. Of course I'm dreaming, but it would be one way. Skill range x-y or you can't join. No, the online drifting with random people is already to much of a joke.
Not sure why it would matter, just know true drifting is not done with AWD. But that said, I'm not opposing this. Should be simpel enough to implement. No thanks, just need the option to limit lobbys to rwd only.

Entry speed and angle is only two of four or five areas a drift is judged and neither entry speed or angle is judged in the game in anycase... all is judged is how close you are to 45 degrees and penalize you for great angles or backwards entries and speed isn't judged at all as the length of time of your drift only seems to matter so your away in a hack if your in 5th or 6th gear at 20mph at 45 degrees for as long as possible.
If you think awd and rwd cars can drift in harmony together for a full lap or multiple laps and stick close together, you either must have been watching some seriously good drivers than know each another's style and lines exceptionally well or you just don't really understand drifting and/or plain physics all that well and just assuming there would be no difference between one car having twice the tractive forces
I never mentioned tandem drifting though. And as I said, I DON'T KNOW the D1 rule book
And you're right, I probably don't know enough to give an objective opinion. But tell me this then. What would you, who knows a thing or two about drifting go about designing a good MP drift experiance?
I'd like the drift pysics from drift trail also online
I think that would be less rewarding......
