In true racer fashion, lets get started on the excuses for not getting past round 2 ;)

I have a pretty good one, but I'm still going to suck it up and try my best! I'm currently in Tokyo on business and won't be back home until midnight EST Saturday. Damn round 2 for only being a week! So, I'll have a solid 48 jet-lagged hours to get some good laps in.

Maybe there's a friendly Japanese GTPer out there in Tokyo that'll let me use their setup some night this week to get a some laps in????

Let's get creative, I'm sure we can come up with some good excuses - LOL.

In Tokyo on business sounds like you may be in a decent financial position. You can buy a PS3 and GT5 and practice all week with the controller to get used to the car and track combos, and then ship them both back to yourself and sell them on Ebay/CL/here later. When you get home you'll be primed for the combos and just need to get up to speed with your wheel instead of learning them all from scratch. You can fortify your attempts to make it through to the next round at a cost of whatever you lose after selling your almost-new training equipment, plus shipping. :)

Hah! You would think, but you'd be wrong. I flew here coach and am yelling at my bosses to give me more money for making me come out here, but so far no luck lol. I'm a low level architect (read geek). I'm not starving, but certainly don't pull in enough to be buying PS3s willy-nilly (or a race team). Thanks for the ideas though.

Anyway, this thread shouldn't just be about my excuse, I'm sure some others will have some creative ones ;)

Understood. :)

I thought I'd throw the idea out there in case it might help you overcome the unfortunate timing of your circumstances. Best of luck to you next Sunday. 👍

Ahh yes, I almost forgot! My excuse- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwrL9MV6jSk

You have to have a u.s. disc inserted to bring up the u.s. seasonal events. GT Academy won't even show up on their seasonal events regardless of who is signed in to the PSN. You bring your disc with you? :)

Choate put me into a wall at 180 mph and I shattered every bone in my body. GTP is my only mode of communication from here on out ;)

Just not having enough time to run it. Between my wife and daughter they have a sense of when i sit in my cockpit. Within seconds of me getting started....I get called for something. Got to do a alot of running while they asleep.

And of course, " my lawn mower would not start".

I suppose you misplaced your course cutters as well?

1. Not enough driving simulator skillz!
2. My pedals suck!
3. The blade on my lawnmower is dull.:)
4. I am too old for this.
5. I am busy during round 3!
6. My wife is getting impatient with me spending 8 hours a day chasing ghosts!
7. No forward bite!
8. Until a month ago, I had never driven a Nissan.
9. This week, I am going to become a Mexican or a Canadian!!!!!
10. NO NITROUS!!

I have the same f-ing problem. It's like the time that I spend with them isn't enough and they have to interrupt "me" time.

My excuse is simple and yet profound.

I didn't make it past round 2 because I didn't make it past round 1.

If i advance to round 2 then government agents might find out where i live/ who i am/ etc.

In all seriousness, lack of practice/time due to school perhaps. Preparation is everything :).

My excuse? I have to fly out to California on Friday and wont be home until 11pm Sunday night. But the reason for the trip is to pick up a GT2RS...... so I guess I can't really complain haha.

5. I couldn't get to the Madrid track from the Rome track because my passport expired.
4. The comfort tires from Round 1 hardened and are now literally made of concrete.
3. The course is Monaco and I had no jet-ski to cut the course through the water.
2. Kaz canceled the competition for another time because he wanted to perfect the look of the Nissan's brake light.
1. I have a broken leg after a driving lesson with B-spec Bob in the Schimmwagen went terribly wrong.

I wanted to do a Top 10 but was too lazy.

On a more serious note, both my knees that I sprained last week are better but even then, I can't go racing over an hour before having to stop. I hope they can hold up this week.

That's the worst excuse by far, lol. Why bother with GTA? If you're any good, you could pay for a season or two in a ladder series for that kind of money (MX5-Cup would be perfect) and launch a career yourself.

Unless of course you 1, aren't any good - like most PCA members ;) or 2 are old.

Sick car though, have fun!
