Extreme game slow down in several tracks.

The game slows down dramatically in Laguna Seca in the hairpin, the corkscrew, and the corner after it. It's so bad that the handling is completely eliminated and it has already cost me a NFS Live Tour race... It's extremely annoying...

Anyone else has this problem?

Anyone else has this problem? Because I also get slow down in Tokyo Club.

Oh yeah. I have those problems on lots of tracks when there are more than four or five other cars... Laguna Seca and Silverstone are the worst, followed by Autopolis GP, Brands Hatch, London River, Road America, Spa and Willow Springs.

I explained it all to EA on their Customer Support page and they told me to delete my Saved Game file and start over! They then proceeded to ignore all my follow-up questions. What a great company that is...

I haven't bothered to follow their advice, because I frankly don't want to start the whole thing all over and I don't think deleting my Saved Game file will make a bit of difference anyway.

Take it form me it dont do a thing, I know what he means the last 3 corners in leguna seca slowdown stupidly for me just those 3 corners every time and its quite major slowdown for me most of the time I think the game is about to crash.👎

Luckily no more tracks are affected, but the timer seems to continue running at normal rate while the actual gameplay is slowed. This needs to be patched up.

That is bang on what mine does its a pain in the backside in an online race as the lead you build gets destroyed by the slow down in the last sections.
I hope that the new DLC works out these kinks but i fear it could add to them and make them worse.

That's what happened to me on Saturday at Silverstone International. Actually, I'm getting a little better at adjusting my inputs for the slowdown so at least I keep it on the track, but it's impossible to be competitive with others who don't have that problem.

Yeah, that new street circuit looks like it's going to be pretty graphics intensive so it'll probably run slow with a full grid. :grumpy:

One of the recorded races with the gallardos you can see addiction go from being a clear distance behind me to on my bumper in a split second due to the slowdown while my timer just ticks as normal and this is not just online it happens single player too.

That's just because my R8 stops & corners better than your Lambo
I'm lucky think i'v experienced this once and cars jumping from behind to infront of me think it was on Silverstone in a saturday league race yet sunday was ok.

I test all my cars at Laguna Seca, i have never had a problem here or on any other track, sometimes i wish i could experience this problem just to see what it is like?

Laguna doesn't have that problems on my ps3, but Donington with BMW in Tier 1, and then in Tier 4 on Autopolis GP are unbearable. Particular Autopolis GP where you have to go under 1:50:00, it's impossible!

I've been "playing" NFS-Shift for a couple of weeks now, mostly from boredom while waiting for GT5...it's relatively fun, though it is no simulator by any stretch of the imagination.

I have to say as a former EA Tester (NCAA2004, Madden2004, NASCAR Thunder 2004 - PC version), I am appalled at the bugs that EA allowed to be KS'd (Known Shippable - a bug that was not cleared prior to release). From really stupid graphics bugs (in one shot the Flag Girl at the start sequence of each race is standing inside the car - if you restart, subsequent sequences has her properly standing behind the car), to random freezes and time code errors (I entered one Time Trial session which is usually 5 to 8 minutes long and session clock started at 20:00:00 - Twenty Hours!), to variations in the grip physics from race to race on the same track with the same car, it is clear that the quality of the test team that approved NFS-Shift has fallen well below that standards of the EA Tiburon Studio that produces and tests the Madden and NCAA football franchises.

I have to wonder if this drop in quality was part of the reason that NASCAR did not renew EA's exclusive License.

Right now I started to get this problem in Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Spa, Nurb, and Tokyo. This is ridiculous.

You are probably doing too much personal liveries,,the more customized cars you got in your garage the worst those kind of problems gets...👎 sorry being me to break down the bad news on you;) at least thats my personal experience, maybe some of the other regulars to the game can give some feedback on this too, since a lot of people complains of the exactly same glitches you are getting.:indiff:

Actually, all my cars are clean. I'm not into decals and vynils and all that, I love my cars with one solid color. It's a game problem, not a car decoration problem.

I hope it gets patched. Soon.

I always wondered about that. I'm glad you mentioned it. Were you on single player Career mode when you had the slowdown?

It always seemed like it had more to do with the coding of the tracks, and not anything to do with the cars, because it only happens in certain sections of certain tracks. Whether there is any other car nearby or not, although it usually happens with a large grid.

The problem seems to be when AI are in the actual track, no matter if they are on screen or not. I drove some cars in Laguna Seca without AI and the slowdown was gone. Same with the rest of the tracks.

So in my case, AI is the issue if they are present in any given spot of the track.

After finishing the new Exotics Events, I went back and started re-running all the events from Tier 1 thru the NFS Live World Tour to see how much the game has been de-bugged since I last played it months ago.

I get a lot of 1 second freezes in just about any race including the new Exotics events. The overall gameplay is much better now, but what's with the freezing/slowdown problems still.

Last night I was starting to run the Nordschliefe 1 lapper in the final event of the World Series within the Live World Tour final events.

The race was totally in slow motion and all cars were affected the same. I kept going to see if it would burp back into reality, but after being involved in a multi-car crash, I restarted thinking it would be back to normal now. Nope. Same thing and I decided to keep going no matter what this time and got into the lead right away and just had to watch the road. The time, as mentioned in this thread, kept going at normal speed. I won the 1 lap race with a rousing time of 17 minutes + and had about a 30 second lead on 2nd place. I was driving the Lambo Murcielago.

I'm going to try the whole 5-race series again now and get to the final race at Nordschliefe and see what happens this time. I'm going to try the Lambo again and not change anything.

Anyone else experience a full race in slowmotion since the 1.03 came out? Or even before that.

I really enjoy the game, but there should be a major push by EA to get the lag/stutter/freeze problem fixed.

The only freeze problem I get now is when playing online I get a 1 second freeze when someone leaves/disconnected. Not good when going round a corner.

I haven't played Shift before 1.03 (PS3). I have no 1 second freezes and I didn't realize bigger slowdowns.

But: Framerate ist too often too horrible.

Happened to me several times yesterday when you were booted, but it was a first time to me,in this situation, that is.:grumpy:

Is it in any way related to the particular PS3 model? I have framerate issues with an original 80Gb PS3.

Old thread I know but I'm curious.

I doubt it. I originally played it on my launch 60gb, and had a little bit of slowdown on some tracks. I'll boot it up with my Slim and see what happens, although it may have been fixed in a patch. I haven't played the game in a while.

Hmm. Maybe it's my 32" Sharp Aquos (720p only)?
