A cool plug-in from Alien Skin fro Photoshop 4 or higher and Paint Shop Pro 5 and higher. What it does is gives you more filters. Some of them are pretty cool.

Blech, filters suck.

I've tried that set out before and they all look cheesy.

I like some of them too. You could do some of them by hand and you would have more control. The filters are just something handy to keep around when you need them.
