Eh.

Reverse tracks? Why? Very odd, hopefully the game is stellar or this could be deemed a waste of time. MyTeam refresh needs to be huge or I'll simply pass. Doesn't appear to be much else for them to shout about which is a shame.

Reverse tracks in an official F1 game sure wasn't on my bingo card (I don't think 2025 in general is on my Bingo card at this rate). Driving reverse on a real Track always feels cursed somehow.

Imagine someone actually doing this in Real life...or don't because this actually happened:

And somehow, its even more cursed.

I assume this will just be a re-badged FY24? I.e. there has been no talk of any meaningful updates in the way of graphics engine, physics or features.

It seems EA are just milking everything they can out of the licence for the last couple of years with little to no investment.

Welcome to the world of yearly sports titles. You're very rarely going to get major updates in a franchise that releases annually, largely due to adjustments in areas like physics and graphics being pretty major undertakings to get done in less than a years time, especially if you want said changes to actually be good changes.

In the past when I used to occasionally dabble with sports games, I would usually play releases 3 years apart to see major changes within a franchise outside of roster adjustments.

Free of charge. EA are so cheap.

So we're gonna keep ignoring the restraining nature of this series being a Yearly release and just blindly call it "Cheap"?
This is the thing, frustrating though it may be, they're so limited time wise and FOM want a yearly title.

Correct assumption (little more than an update), be worth picking up in one of the end-of-year sales though. EA have the right idea with WRC adding yearly reasonably priced upgrades. With F1 it has to be a full release as the F1 licence is milking EA as much as they milk the consumer. Greed milkshake!

I still like these games, never understand the negativity towards them although I know repackaging an update as a whole new game is a large part of it. But I don’t think I’m getting this at launch this year simply because I’m not ready for it yet! I play through the seasons chronologically, always have, and I’ve not even made a real start on F1 23 yet. So even though in previous years I’ve bought the game anyway, this time I don’t see the point especially if it’s another minor improvement.

But when I finally get round to a 2025 season I’ll enjoy it thoroughly, I’m sure.
