F1 FERARRI FAST GUYS:

I am currently running a 1:30.305 (Fastest time as of date), but usually average about a 1:32 and some change for a lap around suzuka course. Do any of you fast guys, running below my fast lap time, care to share your set up with me? It would make things a lot more interesting. I know I have to be smoother on the brakes and quicker in the chicane and hard left, but anyone care to share their knowledge. For a quicker response send to my e-mail,
rgleyba@sbcglobal.net

Thanks very much!

I do 1'27's consitently. I'm not a tuning expert so I'm using full downforce, springs and dampers at 8 8. Toe -0.40 -0.40 and Camber at 2.5 2.0. Pretty much a default tune. But it works. I find this event easy because of the full downforce. The car just sticks to the track. My tip: You can go faster than you think around corners.

Oh, I should ask do you use a sixaxis or a wheel? It's nearly impossible to get really fast times with a sixaxis.

 you could have used one of the other 2 threads, or atleast posted in it the tuning part...

It's not so much the setup as it is the execution. Just gotta realize that the car can handle way more than you're throwing at it. Then push harder. Sadly, I haven't had much time to run it around Suzuka; but when it was on Fuji and after I was testing it awhile, I found out that most corners I was able to go a lot faster than what I had originally thought. That, and stay smooth with the brakes and most importantly the wheel.

I practiced every afternoon/night for about a month in TT's. As you will be able to see. So i'm pretty well practiced with this car. This car was what made me interested in GT5:P. It's sort of like my signature car. So practice in TT's where there is minimum downforce and then go and have a go at the online event. Then the online event seems easy. Never shift down to 1st guys, you get too much wheelspin.

I'll be running here at :30. Hopefully my connection works, it's been working for a couple of hours today so it should work.

EDIT: Sorry for double post. Just realised as I clicked post. Would anyone be interested in me setting up a PAL F2007 thread?

Here is my current setup for Suzuka in which I can run a 1:32 -1:33 with consistant results without too much error or chance of crashing. When I push it hard in which I race very aggressive and hard on the brakes, my best time has been in the 1:30.

Suzuka SET UP FOR F1:

DAMPER-8/8
toe--.50/+.50
cmber-2.5/2.0

I do great with all normal except downforce(put to max) and a gear 7 extended by about 10mph. Manual is great too. It all makes it faster and more exciting. I use TC at 5 and ABS at 5. I wont turn off TC because i dont have a wheel and so cant do throttle control.
