Daily F1 have some good pictures at http://www.dailyf1.com/en/photos/2002/testing/barc0701/index.shtml

The yellow and white car is the Renault! I only picked it when I recognised Button's helmet.

Well, they are actually Renault's official colours, so they do have some historical significance. There's some speculation on what the scheme will be. If you go back to when Renault were running in the early 80's they ran similar colours in a slightly more 'organised' scheme.

I think they're just doing what McLaren did a couple of years ago (I think it was the first year they ran West colours) - does anyone remember when McLaren tested in the original McLaren orange colours.

I'm buggered if I can find any photos of that - it was around 1997-98. Does anyone know where I can find some (or post them).

yeah...i've seen the older Renaults and realized that's why they chose those colours ......wasn't one of their sponsors elf? .......i didn't care for McLaren's original colours .......the car looks pretty sharp with West's colour scheme

Yeah - that's right. Who was Benetton's fuel and oil sponsor last year? Didn't Elf have some problems with internal corruption or something?

Probably because you saw them a lot more than in previous years!

The liveries are a bit dull at the moment - I like the Arrows team (the orange and black is really eye-catching), Jordan of course (good ol' poke in the eye yellow), and Jaguar (I know it's not British Racing Green).

Actually, looking at the field at the moment you'd think there was a bulk discount on blue racing paint!

Some of the more boring ones:
- BAR
- Williams
- Prost

Ferrari is a great pointer that you can't go wrong with red on a racing car. Remember the old Marlboro sponsored McLarens - I know it's not PC but they did look great!

the Ferraris and Jordans are the most intimidating because of their screaming colours which is a good thing plus the four Minardis know who's coming up on their @ss better to get out of the way ......i like the Arrows much better now that my bike has the same paint scheme ...i'm going to go buy "Orange" and "Arrows" stickers to put on it ....the McLarens look real sharp and the Prosts are pretty boring .......don't like Toyota's colours (someone said the car looks like a peppermint ....i agree) Minardis had too much black ......it's like they had no paint scheme .......William's has good colours considering those are BMW colours

interesting. two of my least favorite colors, orange & yellow. to each their own.

Yeah - at least they're eye catching.

Ever since it came out that blue's one of the best colours for TV we've seen a succession of GP cars in varying forms of blue:
- Benetton
- Sauber
- Prost/Ligier
- Williams
- Tyrrell
- half a BAR
and on and on...

BAR always kills me. For a team that is basically a very expensive marketing exercise, they run around in an off-white car with Lucky Strike stickers on it. On cloudy days the car almost disappears into the background!
