F1 tuning for Suzuka fast lap

I'm trying to get my lap time on Suzuka down to Schumi's 2004 pole lap of 1:33.542. Based on the times I've already gotten and the quality of the laps, I'm pretty sure it will be no problem and I think a 1:31 is probable. My current fastest is 1:36.422. It was a clean lap, but I lost time in the hairpin and exiting the Spoon.

At any rate, I'm stuck trying to get rid of a little more understeer without sacrificing performance thru the first corner and the 130R, both of which I can take flat out without the rear end stepping out. Here is the current setup:

Setting: (Front/Rear)

Tires: R3 / R3
Brake Balance: 5 / 3
Spring Rate: 17.5 / 17.5
Ride Height: 45 / 45
Shock Bound: 6 / 6
Shock Rebound: 8 / 8
Camber Angle: 2.0 / 1.0
Toe: 0 / -6
Transmission: 14
ASM Oversteer: 8
ASM Understeer: 4
TCS: 10
Downforce: 75 / 105
Limited Slip-
Rear
Initial Torque: 15
Acceleration: 60
Deceleration: 30

Like I said, I'm very happy with the performance thru the fast sections. It's really just the S-curves and the hairpin that I'm finding just a little bit of understeer that is slowing me down. If I take some of the ASM OS off, I cannot make the 130R flat out. I'm toying with the idea of taking a touch of front downforce off. Any suggestions, ideas, or comments will be much appreciated :banghead:

My roommate has smashed my time, fastest now sits at 1:34.125. That would put him P3 on Suzuka's 2004 grid:

Schumacher's pole has fallen! Current fastest is 1:33.407, a full tenth ahead. There is plenty left, I was still slow thru the hairpin and exiting the Spoon Curve. :ouch:

twothousandgt, when is Schumacher racing at Suzuka? I'd just like to know as I want to see what Suzuka looks like in real life.

Sorry if this is off-topic,

After I read this posting, I spent an hour at SUZUKA with Formula car. :) I got 1'33.724. I tunned little bit in susp. and LSD.

Camber 2.2/1.5
Toe 0/-2
SB 5/5
SR 5/5 => I made it softer for Nuburgring.
LSD 10/60/35

I did not touch the rest.

Your rebound settings are WAY too soft, and the bound settings too! 1 is actually the stiffest setting, and 10 the softest. Try 4's for the bound and 2's for the rebound. When I get home, I'll get my settings I used for the Fomula GT race. My b-spec driver lapped the other five cars in every race with the settings I have, and I could usually run about 6-10 secs. quicker on the qualifying lap with these settings.

I know my setting is too soft. I have been practicing Nubergring course and I have not tried to set up for SUZUKA, but it did spin out yet. I'll make it a bit stiffer and try again. Thank you for pointing out.

Actually, I was talking of the other settings posted, as your's are closer to what I use.

Almost forgot, what kind of lap times are you running at Nurburgring Nordschleife?

5'29.215 is my best lap time so far at Nubergring. I have been practicing for a week now, but there are still two areas where I always go off course.
Let me know how yours is.

for the ring
raise your ride height, stiffene the suspension just a tad.

Hi guys/gals,

nice to see timings posted at the Suzuka circuit. It really is one of the most technical and fun tracks to be driving. The track record now stands at 1:32.730 by R.Barichello. Personally, I am doing in the 1:35s with no tuning and 1:34 very likely even stock. I would love to read that someone has actually beaten the actual timings. At least we know thats possibly, even in a game.

One of the nicest things is how we can all at least appreciate how fast things are in an F1 car, even if its only remotely. I really love the 130R in the Formula car, in fact, any other cars.

Haven't tried those settings, but I will. I did a 1:30.594 on Suzuka in a comp on another board. This was done with stock settings on arcade mode. That means no added hp or reduced weight, R3 tires and no setting adjustments. I'm interested to see how different settings will help this car, because in GT3 settings on F1's could be drastically improved. With good settings I should be able to break 1:30. I wish I had saved the replay to that lap.

The alltime fastest pole was a 1:31.XXX by Schumi in 2001, or 2002 I think, so a new record has been set.

Try in GT mode. I think Arcade mode is little diiferent.

The handling might be a little different, but I can't really tell the difference. In arcade mode the F1 only has 892 hp instead of 904hp, thats the only difference I know of.

Second lap in GT mode was a 1:31.245, not a whole lot a difference. Could easily get a 1:30 with a little time.
