So, as I was browsing Facebook as usual tonight, I suddenly received a "message failed to send" error when sending a YouTube URL. It then told me I was logged out, which set alarm bells ringing - I tried signing in again after changing my password, and was given a notification informing me that my account had been compromised due to malware.

I was then forced into an F-Secure scan provided by Facebook itself - it looks suspicious, never mind the fact you're forced into it, but some further research shows that it is indeed a genuine free malware scan that's just shoddily presented.

Following that, I also ran a Malwarebytes scan as usual. However, neither found any malware - my laptop feels a bit faster, but I am still unsure as to what exactly happened. I can log into Facebook fine now, and nobody appears to have received any suspicious links, but I'm still being blocked from sending YouTube URL links in messages. If I remove the https from the link it works, but I still feel everything isn't 100%.

Has anyone got any advice, or has anyone experienced similar things?

You should never be forced from one site to another if you do not click on a link to redirect you.

The link was on the Facebook site itself, which is what made it look dodgy. The T&C's linked were from the official website though.

I'll change my password again just to be on the safe side, but people on other forums have commented on how unprofessional it comes across as - especially since F-Secure advise against such links themselves!
