Here it is boys.

Apparently the rear has changed too - I'm trying to find shots.

Nice looking. I personally liked it previously, but a lot of others didn't. Still an improvement. Looks a bit like the front-end styling of the new Forester.

Looks a lot like a rounded version of the Liberty/Legacy to me.

Apparently the tail light treatment has similarities to the current Integra - buggered if I can find photos.

I'm surprised they gave into pressure so quickly and redesigned it, though Subaru's always been one to want to sell cars rather than stick to their 'ideals.' Especially when they only offer three models and one main engine!

Well, that's probably a bit harsh - they have converted (well, here anyway) the whole range to AWD at the expense of cheaper base models in the line-up, and retained the boxer layout of the engine even though from a smoothness, refinement and economy point of view they could have gone to a standard in-line layout.

I can't speak for the US arm though.

I must admit I too am a bit suprised they caved in - much of the comment I've heard, and I'm much the same, is that people have actually gotten used to the styling, and I actually don't mind it now. I know in Australia it is only the WRX that has suffered a sales decline, but I would think that would be because the new car is perceived as being heavier and 'softer' than the old fairly hardcore model. Sales of other non-turbo versions of the Impreza are well up here - although it should be noted the WRX made up one third of total Subaru sales here (including Liberty/Legacy, Outback, Impreza and Outback).

I like them both, actually, but I'm kinda disappointed that Subaru went conservative so quickly.

They really should have worried about that awful wing, first.

I wish manufacturers were more focused on conservative styling. New age stuff out of Japan is awful.

As someone said earlier, it does resemble a Skyline; perhaps an R33, only softer. I was getting used to the Neon-ish front end, but this isn't too bad either. I would have liked for Subaru to keep the unique look to match their unique car, but at least they didn't pull what Mitsubishi did. Damn, I'm still peeved about that....

I can also see the Skyline in it to. Its like a WRX and a Skyline had sex and thats what the result was.

Hi. I saw a new Auto Express issue today which had new pictures of the Impreza in it, Basically it is the front end, a subtly revised rear end, and a massively redesigned Wagon version.

A Legacy redesign is expected later this year...

I'll probably see it at the :uk: Motorshow..

It looks good but is it just me but it seems that :subaru: impreza updates are the wrong way round? Surely this one would have looked best as a follower from the old model and then the current model would be best as the new concept.. see what I mean?

Of course I'm basing that on looks alone not technology :D
