The attitude of the "bodyguards" was a bit odd. "Hey look, an attempted murder. Let's not restrain the guy, just start kicking him!"

Either the gun misfired or that dude sucks at being an assassin.

Those were bodyguards? Some of them looked just like people who were in there for the speech. I thought the bodyguards took off with the dude when he left the room.

I was unsure, hence the "". Sorry peoples.

The grandpa in the end was absolutely hilarious.

Edit: It's amazing to see politicians of all sorts kick and beat some guy like thugs in a back alley. The speaker is also incredibly lucky.

Looks like he left the safety on then reached up to turn it off... or he just didn't chamber a round which is why he reached for the slide...

Kind of hard for the gun to "jam" when no feeding or ejecting is occuring... you know... because he didn't fire...

"Before a sentence could be delivered the attempted assassin died of sheer embarrassment."

That is some seriously incredible luck.

Can't believe there are politicians worse than the bodyguards hired to protect them, thought it was pretty cowardly that he wasn't allowed to stand and defend himself whilst they beat him though.

I was expecting him to be arrested and led away. I was shocked when they started kicking him.

Wow... I find myself staring at the screen in disbelief! What sheer, dumb, incredible luck on the politician's part. Are there any Bulgarians on here who can tell us what the significance of that guy is? It could've been really bad, but It almost looked like slapstick comedy...

I know, I probably shouldn't have laughed as much as I did. But I completely lost it, when the old guy started hitting the would be assassin with a umbrella.

Aye! I'm Bulgarian but I don't follow politics over there. (I think it's mostly corruption and the mob).

Edit: The Bulgarian - Yours truly :D, sez:

So apparently after talking with my friends over there, they told my that the Turkish party was slowly falling apart and it needed publicity/support... One take on this is: it was very likely that the Turkish party hired that guy to pull a gas pistol and purposefully fail to assassinate the speaker. I find this very likely as you can pretty much do anything in Bulgaria if you have the coin.

Here's a little bit of background:

My other thought is that it's Bulgaria; a few years ago an upset elderly man modified his air rifle to shoot 22 caliber bullets to "fend off" a group of small children playing in front of his apartment block. He shot at them - made headlines - hurt a few of them (thankfully no one was killed) and was imprisoned - I think... This "would be assassin" could have been equally out of his mind. (Trust me I've been to Sofia once or twice and have seen more in two days than in my entire life )

Or; If you have the 'coin' you can pretty much turn this around and make it look like a publicity stunt?
