Hello

I've just got a new GT3RS V2 wheel, and first thing I've noticed is the fan noise. Well, it's not too much, but my G27 doesn't make any, and I like things as quiet as posible.

So, is it normal? is it possible to turn off the fans?

As I remember, the CSR is quieter.

Thanks

I have the same wheel and youll have to deal with it. You defiantly don't want to turn the fans off or else it'll overheat so fast. I took the cover off mine so it runs a little cooler.

At least some of the P wheels have less venting at those two top screens than CSRs. The holes are smaller. The screens can be removed (they unscrew), modified for larger holes, replaced with better screening, whatever. That will help keep temperatures lower which on some of the firmwares will then allow the fan to run more slowly hence quieter.

Well, It's a bit noisy. I'm used to the G27 and the Fanatec's fans noise has been a 'bad' surprise.
I tried a friend's CSR before buying the GT3, and it was a quiet wheel, so I thought the GT3 would be the same.

A quiet thing about Fanatec wheels is the belt drive during rally or some of the latest PC sims. Logis can get so loud with the clattering that you can wake up someone sleeping down the hallway. It's due to the gearlash.

Yep, not only they are loud on bumps but the nature of that clunking sounds like chopping the wheel casing with an icepick. It can probably be mostly dialed out on PC sims but on gran turismo it's horrible on gravel roads.
