Fanatec CSR Firmware New Problem

I was updating the firmware on my CSR (non-elite) to 750 and the bootloader crashed after the second stage, and then the wheel was pretty much bricked. I tried older firmware and the latest I could find which are 737 and 750 respectively, and retried over and over but it still won't go through.

The initial problem I was getting after the failed flash was that it got stuck while "resetting Fanatec as commport" then I re-selected all the PW files and then it got to the "flashing" stage, but then shortly after it would get stuck and then give "-ERROR 2-" and it's been doing that ever since. I was updating the firmware because my gearshift's first and second gears were somehow routed to the A and Left Paddle of the CSR and no other gears worked even after I re-calibrated them.

Would appreciate some help and insight so I can start playing Forza Horizon. Thanks.

In case you haven't already, eliminate all other variables. Make sure you remove everything and reboot. Turn off any antivirus and any other background programs. Then try to flash the firmware.

tried everything, still getting "ERROR 2" when attempting to flash.

Are you by chance anywhere near Seattle, WA?

I have the programmer necessary to flash the wheel.

Fixed the firmware problem by installing/flashing a firmware given to me by Fanatec customer service, now the gear shift won't calibrate. The wheel simply won't go into the calibration mode (where you press the small tuning button and the forward/start button together)

I have the same problem as you had (in terms of the firmware issue). Is it possible that you could send me the files that fanatec gave you? Ive p'med you my email address.

Also I dont know about the calibration though. From what Ive heard gear calibration issues can be a physical issue with wires though. Does Your sequential shifter work?

How long does this flashing take? I had the same problem. updating the driver fixed the commport issue. now it says flashing and doesn't seem to end.

It finally worked!
After days of multiple attempts, I was finally able to update the firmware and drivers of my aging Fanatec CSR Elite! I have been hunting around online for any available leads, but have been unsuccessful. I resorted to trying various combinations of steps, firmwares and drivers and this is what worked for me! Of course I had to share my results because I know the struggle and this GTPlanet link was the first result when searching for "fanatec error 2". So, this is what worked for me. I hope this leads to success for some/all of you.

Firstly, here is the link to where I found the firmware and drivers:
