Where abouts can I buy a Fanatec USB dongle upgrade for the fanatec 911 turbo?
Im looking for the one where it dont require you to change the date back to 2008 for GT5P but cant seam to find anywhere that will post to Australia.

There's a dongle for sale on ebay at the moment, the seller wants £30 for it, what do you mean by upgrade? There was a firmware update that fixed that problem, you can find it either at the fanatec site or www.911wheel.com

I don't think he is talking about the Turbo S, and it never needed an update to work on the PS3 without changing the date.

Now about the original Turbo...

It has no updatability. Unfortunately you will be stuck changing the date with that one.

.

The PWTS dongle does indeed work with the original PWT wheel, and with it you don't have to set the date back. I think the only problem will be finding a seller that will ship to australia at a reasonable price.

Well then...

Ignore my earlier response then. :)

I didn't realize that the issue was with the dongle rather than the wheel.

I cant find it anymore, I seen one on ebay for sale, it was going to cost $69AUD posted to Australia but its gone now..

I'm going to be in this same position very soon, ive ordered a PWT and it's on its way. Is it not possible to simply update the software/firmware on the "dongle" and not have to buy a new one? I imagine the actual hardware of the dongle is the same with the PWT and PWTS

It is possible to update the PWT dongle firmware, but it will not give you the compatibility of the PWTS dongle. You can make the wheel work in GT5P with a firmware updated PWT dongle, but you will have to set the date back.
