I getting no ffb on any racing game on the 360, ps3 and pc mode is working fine. On another forum someone said this could be due the recent xbox update. Is anyone else experiencing problems

Hi, my CSR Elite is working great. No problems with the FFB at all. Sorry that I couldn't help you.

I lost force feedback last night for a few hours but it has returned, my clutch is playing up now though, there's known problems with this dashboard update and wheels.

It's the update. I'll post up a thing about it.

More on the dodgy latest XBOX live update, thanks to snowowl.

"After lengthy conversations I had on Thursday (June 14) with Xbox Support, it is apparent the "current" System Update Version 2.0.15572.0 is what is messing up the behavior of the wheels, whether the Microsoft Wireless Wheel, the Fanatec products (version does not matter) or even the Microsoft Wireless Speed Wheel. Not all regions have received the update, and it may being withheld now pending investigation of the issues.

Turn 10 has already contacted Xbox LIVE's support techs, and the suggestion in the conversations I had Thursday with the support personnel was:

IF you are running Update Version 2.0.15572.0, you can attempt to clear the cache (described here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/settings-and-initial-setup/clear-system-cache) to remove that build so you can play Forza Motorsport (or any other racing game on the console for which you use a steering wheel) in an offline mode without receiving the Version 2.0.15572.0 Xbox update. If you are in a region where the new Update Version has already been delivered, it may be offered again. Refusal of that update will not allow online usage.

NOTE: In attempting this in various testing, some people were able to successfully remove the update, while others were not - even after numerous attempts and numerous restarts of the console after performing the Cache Maintenance. Reverting to the previous Dashboard 2.0.14719.0 build, or having it currently properly installed, apparently does continue the proper usage of the wheels, including correct Force Feedback avoids the anomalies presented with the new Xbox update.

The first regionalized update from Xbox LIVE, which only pertained to background (server side) functions, is in preparation for the new Dashboard Update which is supposed to be released June 20. None of the work done in the current update brings any changes to any games, including Forza Motorsport 4, directly. There are no title updates included, even though what the background work apparently has done has had unexpected results.

Beyond this information, I have nothing more at this point. It is not Turn 10's issue to fix, it doesn't affect all Forza Motorsport 4 players, and work is being done to figure out what changes caused the issues with the wheels. Please NOTE: This is NOT an official statement from any of the parties involved, only information from investigation I did."

Well after about five to ten minutes, the wheel does get force feedback but it still needs sorting

Wow. This sucks. I haven't been on the xbox this week and hopefully its sorted out before the end of next week. :scared:

Yep microsoft update gets rid of 3rd party controller usage even though fanatec has an official forza wheel. microsoft's greed never seems to amaze me I just hope they fix it soon but from what I hear they dont admit to have caused the problem.

Yes, I have the Elite and have checked all my xbox racing games, about seven.
I have no FFB at all with Dirt 3 and Race Pro any more. Two out of the seven xbox games tested are affected. I have wheel tension, but nothing with bumps, collisions, jumps, nothing! The wheel never moves at all. Unlike FM4 the FFB does not return after 10 min. I keep trying Dirt 3 for two days. The games are useless.

Forza 4 has no problems at all for me, but a lot of others do.
Using firmware 721b. All my PC sims are ok.

So, did the update disable the game data or the wheel?

This sounds like a bug, not something related to 'MS's greed'. I've read that lots of people have reported no problems. I'll be trying it out hopefully tonight, been busy myself and I have a CSR wheel/CSR Elite pedals. Will check on RacePro, FM4 and Dirt2, about the only 3 games I play now on XBOX360 (all Forzas remain collecting dust). I've got GT5 and F1 on PS3 but this seems to be related to MS's system

Last I checked Sony cut 3rd party controllers from their system so both just want to cash in on 'lost profits'.

Yea, like to here if your Race Pro has FFB....I have none, just wheel tension, using CSR Elite.

Are you saying Logitec wheels don't work on PS3? Isn't Logitec a 3rd party, or does Sony own them? :boggled:

I had a problem with my network/router last night so I didn't get a chance. Hoping tonight. I'll be trying FM4, RacePro, Dirt2 and might even pop in PGR3, FM2, FM3 (never played the last 3 with my CSR wheel).

Logitech wheels do work on PS3. My MOMO and DFGT still works. It's the controller pads that Sony blocked in some update I believe last year or the year prior. There was a big fuss over it. I think only the Street Fighter fight pads/sticks work now but most aftermarket pads are now blocked. I think it has to be officially licensed stuff to work. Wheels are a different story since Sony, and I wish MS followed this route, has default wheel drivers most wheels work under. My MOMO old wheel works but not 100%. My CSR wheel defaults to a G25/G27 driver, thankfully without the Logitech high speed wobble

Ok quick update.. xbox on latest update from today (?)
Only had time to do a few laps with my csr wheel and csrelite pedals. No issue noticed. Ffb seems unchanged but its bern about 1-2 weeks due to life's other priorities.

After taking latest update...June 20th I had no FFB in FM4 for 16 min. It seems ok now, but will see tommorow when I start it up again.

The strange part is I took the first update (the one causing all the problems a few days ago) and it had NO adverse affect on my FFB in FM4! Almost everyone else that took it had no FFB for the first few minutes. WTH??

Like I said in OP my FFB is working again now in Dirt 3, but Race Pro still NO FFB.

Will have to try out RaceRro and Dirt2 still. Have not picked up Dirt3 and the only F1 game I have is on PS3.

Zebrawire, you do the latest Fanatec firmware updates? I'm still on the last good one, have heard mixed results on the latest fw updates for the wheel.

The latest xbox update (and minecraft update) botched minecraft a bit so I'm wondering if something is screwy with the system, not just related to Forza 4 or other racers and FFB wheels.

No. I have stuck with the 721b. I got an Elite from the first shipments. First there was the 715, then the 721b. When the 737 came next, nothing convincing that I read, and the latest, the 742 beta is way too unstable.

Don't fix it if it aint broke theory. Plus I am a PC noob and don't like messing with stuff unless people really say it is good. I read a ton of forums.

Yea, I have a feeling maybe some of my flight games on the xbox may be dodgy. Got to check.

Are you saying the June 20th update srcewed up minecraft?

That one screwed up FM4 and fixed Dirt 3 as I posted!

Quick update on the minecraft issue I had. Seems it was just an isolated glitch. I played for like 2 hours last night and had no problem whatsoever. MC is like crack lol

Definitely has taken time away from FM4 and GT5 for me!! And best part is my lady doesn't mind it. Says it's peaceful to watch me play it and she even gets into it telling me what I should do and build lol

This weekend I'll be trying out RacePro and other racing games on x360.

Good news about your MC.
I cranked up FM4 last night and had no problems. Race Pro is still dead and figure it's history. Thanks so much, M$ :irked:
