I have had a 911 Carrera wheel for a while now, but i find it pretty bad for drifting. It's just too slow. I find myself doing most of the work (that the FF motors should be doing) myself. I've been thinking about upgrading to a GT3RS for some time now.

I would like to hear some opinions from some GT3 RS owners if possible, in relation to FF strength, and general ease of use when it comes to drifting.

Cheers. 👍

I know about that section thanks, but this question is more to do with wheels in relation to drifting, than wheels in general.

im using the pwts, generic one that works on everything, drifting is difficult but i suspect no more difficult than on another wheel. ive managed 13,000 round tsukuba in a silvia,

before i copied a setup off here i was really struggling though, the diff lock makes a massive difference, i was practising going round in circles (as that was what i learnt irl first) as well, once i got how to do this i moved onto the laps, worked well but still very inconsistent, need more practice!!!

could really use a handbrake that wasnt attached to the wheel :(

Use 720' for drifting, at drift setting 5.

I started at 900 and im now using 540, you reckon 720 is better?

I have drift set to 1, im not sure i know what this does though, ill try 5 later, ta

The steering wheel with the club sport pedals is excellent, best ive used by far :)

Drift setting compensates for the low turn speed of the wheel, the motor pushes the wheel in the direction you turn. Drift setting 4 or 5 are the ones to use.

The T500 is better than the 911 Carrera Wheel I have. Heck I imagine its possibly the best out of them all. So your drift experience will be completely different. We have Fanatec wheels and mine IS slow when drifting, he says his is too, so my drift settings will most likely help. The G27 is a very fast wheel, therefore completely different as well as the T500 (assuming due to its price tag / quality) .

When Fanatec is involved, The Carrera wheel definitely anyway.

900 is far from the best.

Don't mean to be rude. All he will accomplish with 900' is the most accurate and epic drift technique going, or a broken wheel.

Personally think I would be much better at it with a faster wheel.

Well for me its just I cant do it other way in gt5 t500 is set to 900 rotation so I cant help it :P On my old G25 I was used to 720 and all above that was not needed. I do miss the freakin clutch pedal in gt5

TM hurry up and make us a shifter haha:P

So you are not rude GTWelsh, I dont know anything about the fanatec wheels, but I just had the same problem with t500 turining back to slow so I changed ingame FFB to 10 and now it turns alot faster for the rest it all needs practice! And I think you are more help to him thenme anyway, since you own the same wheel :)

No worries mate :)

To be honest you may of helped me, I will see what mine is like on 10. It won't cure it I'm sure as Fanatec being slow rotating wheels is a known fact, the Carrera is moaned about quite a lot.

I will try setting FFB to 10 in game and 100% on wheel, see if that helps me at all.

Thank you.

P.S. Would love a T500 you sly dog!
