Fanatec QR1??

Running a Fanatec F1 Podium Wheel Base, CSL universal hub, and a QR1 adapter I just purchased. Fanatec told me this would allow me to connect CSL wheels to the podium wheel base. All drivers updated again last night (4/22/22) on Fanatec website, and everything works fine...except the CSL Universal Hub. It is not detected by the wheel base. I have tried different modes on the wheel base without resolution. I am running PS4/PS5 and the Podium components work fine across multiple games and both PS4 and PS5. I have assured that the QR1 adapter is snug against the CSL hub when attaching. I have tried every iteration of connect this first, then this, then power it up...

I have sent more than one customer service request to Fanatec but...11 days of crickets. My guess is that Fanatec mislead me when guiding me on ordering or they sent me a faulty CSL hub????

This should mean that you have installed Driver 440 and Wheel base firmware 692?
So bear with me...I am a Mac guy that had to ask his son to bring his PC tower into the Sim room so we could do the updates again. Fanatec's website directs me here when I search for the CSL Universal Hub drivers: https://fanatec.com/eu-en/steering-wheels/csl-universal-hub#downloads

It lists the 439 driver as the driver needed. I installed this last night.

Does the CSL hub need to be connected to the wheel base during the update? I had the Podium wheel attached during the update, not the CSL with the QR1.

Did you update the wheel base firmware to 691?

The CSL hub needs to be attached to the base to update its own firmware.
Thanks! I will do the software update with the CSL hub installed later today and see if that works. Regarding your 691 question, I will need access to a PC before I can answer that.

PC is still not recognizing the CSL hub/wheel when the wheel is on the wheel base, with the wheel base connected to the PC via the USB cable supplied by Fanatec. If I take off the CSL and replace with the podium wheel, the podium wheel is immediately recognized.

The wheel base does not seem to be communicating with the CSL hub at all - no lights, no indication on the wheel base that a wheel is attached (little icon is apparent when a wheel is recognized).

I believe the 691 firmware was part of the 439 driver package I downloaded.

From Admin on Fanatec forum about the 439 driver:
Changelog since driver 434

Firmware versions included

  • Podium DD1 / DD2 Base: 691 (NEW)

It sounds very much like you have received a defective CSL Universal Hub. I'm sure the support team will help you resolve this. There is a high volume of enquiries at the moment, but they will get back to you.
