Hey everyone. I am on the long waiting list to get a GT2 from fanatec. I was curious, for those who have bought shift 2 unleashed, how are the fanatec wheels with it?

Either xbox or ps3 version.

Tryin to debate on which console to go with, but it will all depend on which one works the best with a GT2(when I get it).

thanks

I just fired the game up for xbox 360 and started a thread for fanatec wheel users with settings etc please go there and read and post any questions to me and i will be up for a while to answer them.

Thanks. I looked there. Does not look to promising for fanatec wheels at the moment.

Well here are a few things I noticed with my GT2 CSP:

1) Wireless dongle works but the GT2 is not recognized by the game as a steering wheel (controller). Connected it via usb cable and I was able to change settings via G27 setup.

2) Float city.... I dunno I guess I play GT5 too much and need to get used to this game.

3) ISR settings are great but I needed to up the Brake and Throttle sensitivity a bit.

Is that on a ps3 or PC?

Yeah from what I'm reading sounds like the GT2 would work fine with PS3 since it's recognized probably as a g25/g27. But on xbox 360 shift 2 you will be screwed since it treats it as a microsoft wheel

Glad I decided to wait on Shift 2 til I get my gt2 wheel but I feel for others ofc.

I was really thinking of getting the PC version so hopefully a gt2 user will get that a go. Waiting on that Raudi guy to post up his thoughts. He's gonna test fanatec + T500RS on all platforms :dopey:

I have a Fanatec PWTS on XBOX 360 and all functions work with Shift 2 - how am I screwed exactly?

Clutch and 6H shifter work properly and all the buttons can be mapped differently if you don't like the defaults plus you can change sensitivity, dead zones etc.

My only gripe so far is the FFB is not as strong as on the PS3 version (I have all 3 versions to compare). XBOX version graphics are a bit crisper but I noticed more jaggies.

I know the PWTS is supposed to he the same as the GT2 but GT2 users are reporting problems with FF dropping in and out.

For some reason braking (GT3rs CSP) is very very bad. I've checked the brakes on my PC and they are fine.

The GTR in the very first event was horrible. My Alfa is not quite as bad, something feels VERY wrong.

I keep getting the friggin controller disconnect message too.

DON'T THEY TESG THESE GAMES!!!!!!!

Using ISR's setting verbatim, brakes were bad before setting were applied.

Are you using default settings for the xbox version? Just curious how people are setting their wheels, plus in-game wheel settings... thanks

Ah cool so you got your 6H Shifter to work? That sounds good. I remember earlier you posted it wasn't working.

Do you have the pc version as well? I was thinking bout buying the pc version when my wheel finally arrives

I just needed to calibrate the 6H shifter and then it worked fine....I have CSP and so far no brake issues.

I'm using default settings except 400 Degree rotation (in game and wheel), 20% speed sensitive steering and 10% dead zone on wheel.

I thought I had ordered the PC version from Amazon but when the package showed up today it was PS3 version (DOH!) I will have PC version tomorrow! LOL

Anyone figure out why the brakes are so weak?

I made a suggestion in another thread to raise the brake sensitivity. Did you try that? Here is that thread with more comments and explanation :

I'll be able to try this myself in an hour or so. I'll post again in that other thread about the brakes after I've had a chance to experiment a little.

I'm using the PWTS on Xbox and the game only shows it as an "Official Xbox" wheel. Is this correct? How do I change this? I thought there were indicators to change what the wheel is, but it didn't seem to do anything.
