What surprises me the most though, is on a forum that really IS a collection of clean drivers (or those that want to be clean, anyway), why this isn't priority number ONE amongst you? Why are ephemera like helmet cams and night racing details SO important, but some kind of mechanism to stop a six year old smashing into the back of you some kind of afterthought (or a rant, :

Well I cant answer that for everyone but only fo myself- I already found a group of great/clean/educated/competitive guys to race with (from all over the world) we have a league currently running F1 2010 with about 18 fix racer and a few others not so commited and we really dont need no imposing from any game to tell us how to stay clean when the systems implemented usually have more flaws then what they are suppose to fix/prevent

I also agree that having a good penalty system that could be optional would be the best for those that arent so lucky

But I hope that explains why its not a priority to some of those that race the internet wich was not my case until a couple of months ago - because of the kids that dominate the online

I tried to install two copies of shift (PC version) but without succes so far. I want to have two copies with different mods so I can compare the mods.

It ought to work :)

The easiest way to make it happen is to unpack the game, and copy your unpacked game in its entirety to \shift-2. Now you have 2 unpacked copies of the game. Shift runs all it's profile/registry stuff independent of the installed game folder so you can use the same driver profile on both installs.

ed - erased early morning brain fart

I already installed some mods.
  • DLC mod
  • Unofficial community patch v1.05
  • Overhaul v1.31 with the ZZS AI mod
  • No intro mod
  • HD mod is for later when there is no risk to damage the computer.

I want to try out the sharp mod seperately. I believe that the sharp mod is a part of the overhaul mod?

Nope, sharp is nothing to do with overhaul.

The "may damage your computer" warning for HD mod is more a generic disclaimer for people who are seriously overclocking :)

Thanks, good to know. I'm going to try the sharp and the HD Mod. Do you know when there is a definite HD mod version coming out?

Managed to install to copies of shift. One with the overhaul and the other one with the sharp mod. I still have to try them in order to be able to compare these mods.

I also installed the HD mod and I'm very pleased. Who needs GT5 when you have shift. <=== pc version with mods that is. :D

HD mod - depends entirely on other people at this point. There are a handful of new skins to add and some other minor changes (remove engine sounds addon, increase envmap update rate in external cameras) to go for the next version but the overhaul beta is taking up most of my time right now. It's more dependent on getting more skinners onboard, I don't really want to be throwing out 35mb installs every time someone makes one single skin, so once there are a few more it'll get updated again.

I tried the Free track cam hack from Racer_S but it doesn't work with patch v1.02. Shame.

EDIT: got it working but Shift crashes everytime I want to leave a track and go back to the main menu.
