Hi there,
Assetto Corsa features a lot of cool cars, however, i'm mainly interested in the GT race cars featured in this game. Right now i'm trying to figure out which is the best / fastest GT3/GT2 race car. So, what did i do? I did a couple of hot laps at the Nürburgring GP. And some things made me a bit curious.
First: the GT2/GT LM cars in AC aren't faster than the GT3 cars. That's rather surprising and i wonder if Kunos did some kind of BOP to make these cars equal in performance. Another thing that surprised me is the fact that there is a 5 second gap between my best lap time in the 650 S GT3 and the Audi R8 LMS. There shouldn't be such a big gap but i couldn't manage to go any faster in the R8. Last bot not least: I managed to do faster times on Soft Slicks than with Super Soft Slicks with the GT2 cars. This shouldn't be possible, should it?
Please note that i'm not a great driver, i'm still getting used on my new G29 wheel and learning the ropes. These times might be laughable at online leader boards, but please keep in mind this isn't about me doing great laps, this is just about finding out which is the fastes car. I used the default setup on all cars with soft slicks. However, here are my lap times at Nürburgring GP...
650 S GT3: 2:03,252
458 GT2: 2:04,751
C7R: 2:05,157
Huracan GT3: 2:05,392
AMG GT3: 2:05,622
SCG P4/5: 2:07,350
SCG 003C: 2:07,516
R8 LMS Ultra: 2:08,247
For real-life comparsion: at the Blancapain Endurance Series, the 650 S GT3 managed to put out a 1:56.738 at the Nürburgring in 2015. The last chicane might be different tough.
I'm a bit surprised the 650 S is this fast. It can feel a bit twitchy at very fast corners but if I manage to keep my cool, it is an incredible car. The 458 GT2 feels lighter and is easier to drive, same goes for the C7R, however, it seems to me the 650 S is still faster on a good lap.
Please feel free to add your lap times and share your experience of which might be the overall fastest GT3/GT2 car in AC.
