1991 Audi Avus Quattro
oh my i wish they amde this car. listen to the specs...
The Quattro obtained it name from the Avus racetrack in Berlin, and its top racing-like feature was probably its powerful engine.
The mid-mounted 12 cylinder 6 liter power plant generated 509 horsepower from a unique configuration: two banks of four cylinders arranged at a 120-degree angle with a third positioned upright between the other two. Audi designated this the W12 configuration and what it provided was a compact engine with excellent power. With a top speed of 210, this four-wheel-drive machine went from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds.
The Quattro's hand-molded, all aluminum body and oversize tires were a definite reference to the Autio Union racing machines of the 1930s. Scissors-type doors opened simultaneously forward and upward. Side-view mirrors were mounted high on the door frame. An air duct on the heavily glassed roof fed air to the engine bay, also covered in glass. The cockpit, lined in leather, wood, and wool, was adorned only with a simple, unobtrusive compact grouping of analog gauges set directly before the driver.
