I asked in the fanatec wheel thread if thomas would give us some info on the clubsport shifter. He said this "It is still abit too early for that but what about the other way round? What do you want? Features, material, compatibility, price, etc."

I'm not much on the technical side of these devices, I just like to use them, so maybe some of you tech guys can give him some ideas. Here's a few albeit simple ideas I would like to see.

1. Easily mountable with pre drilled holes in the bottome of the shifter so there is no need to buy anything else to mount it.

2. No clicking noise. I still haven't gotten use to the one with the turbo s wheels, and the clicking of the G25 shifter drove me crazy too.

3. It should be compatible with all of your wheels that use a shifter, and the G25, and G27 if that's possible.

4. Metal for the materials, these plastic shifters feel like they are going to break at anytime. Everytime I let someone try out my setup, I'm sure they're going to snap the shifter in half.

These are the most basic of requests, and I'm sure Thomas has already decided on all of these. I'm just trying to get the thread going. I'm sure some of guys with more experience in this kind of field will come up with some great ideas.

What you said, and:
-When you change gears make it FEEL and SOUND like a real shifter. Maybe use FFB to achieve this?
-Be able to keep the car in nuetral when gear stick is not in gear.

That is all.

Bevo you cover most of the main points that should be expected.
They need something like the SST in price and quality which seems to be greatly accepted in the PC martet.

Id also suggest that the design could possibly allow for "real car market" shifter handles to be interchanged with the one supplied. This would be excellent for owner personalisation.

Or if Fanatec wanted to offer a standard designed handle but then as purchase extras for about £20 / $20.

GT3RS & Turbo S versions.
These would have identical leathers as the wheels with a small amount of colour coding (silver or orange metal ring) on the gear handle.
I think product uniformity and some colour coding would be great way to increase the look.

Price, personally Id pay approx £100 for such if it had a quality construction and feel but it has to be nothing like a toy which both G27/Fanatec offerings are currently like.

Additionally Fanatec should consider offering this colour coding in CSP pedal plates (black & orange or Black & silver designs) to match GT3RS / Turbo S wheels.
I think Fanatec really are missing out on (upselling possibilities/extras)

I hope Fanatec includes a handbrake in this set. A shifter (sequential mode is a must IMO) and handbrake with the same quality of the Clubsport Pedals would be perfect.

Make it happen Thomas.

If they do it like they did with the plastic shifters, and have one of each that is fine, but a combo shifter = :yuck:.

:odd:
