History:The Ferrari 312P was first debuted at the 1969 12 Hours of Sebring. Due to a lack of funding, Ferrari was only able to send one car to the 1969 12 Hours of Sebring race. Mario Andretti and Chris Amon put the car in pole position in its first race. The car would later go on to finish second in the race. The car that was unveiled at Sebring had an open top however, at a test for the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans, it was discovered that a closed top version of the car was needed for aerodynamics. The car (an open top variation) then raced at the BOAC 500 at Brands Hatch where it finished 4th behind 3 Porsche 908-01s. Chris Amon then took the car to another pole position at the 1000km of Monza but retired from the race. The car also retired from the 1969 1000km of Nurburgring. At the 1000km of Spa the car finished second. Then at Le Mans the closed top version finally arrived. Two cars were entered (qualified 4th and 5th) but both retired. The car was no dubitably plagued with bad luck. It was replaced with the 512 S and 512 M

Specs:
Engine. 3.0L 2990cc V-12
Transmission: 5-Speed
Top Speed: 320km/h (198.839 mph)

Nice, we need more Ferrari Race cars.

Voted! Along with the Ford P68, McLaren M6 and Lola T70 surely one of the most beautiful racing cars ever made - from the period just before looks were dictated by aerodynamic aids.
