Unveiled at the 1969 Turin Motor Show the Ferrari 512S Berlinetta Speciale was a wedge shaped concept car designed by Filippo Sapino, former Design Director of Ghia while working for Pininfarina. It featured a 6 litre V12 extracted from a Ferrari 612 Can Am Racer and a chassis from a Ferrari 312P damaged at the 1,000km of Monza (chassis number 0868). Only one example was made and sadly it was not a drivable vehicle as the engine block contained no internals.

...I was puzzled initially, that PininFarina could come up with...something so challenging to look at. Then I read the bit in the OP that said the "Ghia" part.

...No wonder. :indiff:

Filippo Sapino also styled the 365 GTC/4 while he was working for Pininfarina:

Signore Sapino must have been reigned in properly then...:D Maybe Signore Enzo had a thing or two to say.

Paulo Martin produced this 512S (the Modulo in 1970) while working for Pininfarina - in comparison the car above is positively practical - the Modulo could hardly steer as the front wheels had such limited steering lock:

His day job (main) project for Pininfarina at the time was the Rolls Royce Carmargue:
