Ferrari Challenge - Can it really look this good?

Whatever that trailer is, here's some Wii gameplay footage. Still looks pretty good, but I hope that framerate is YouTube's doing.

I'm pretty sure that's the Trailer and is running on the PS3.

Yeah you know what online retailers are like, they put a vid up of the game from any platform. Actually even gaming sites like Gamespot do that and have the same screenshots for each version, bloody annoying! :ouch:

That video posted by the user thats the Ps3 version you can tell by the interior lighting and the shadowing and also because i own that version and that is what it looks like on ps3.

Yeah, I own the PS2 version (note, not the PS3)...
That's definitely far better than the PS2 version, so much so that I'm confident it is not the Wii.
That said, there is very, VERY, little about Ferrari Challenge that is arcade-ish. The game has excellent physics. I've been meaning to write a review but since I haven't found the time to post my thoughts in full...
While GT4 is like a large, well polished piece of Quartz, Ferrari Challenge is like an extremely small Diamond in the rough. That's FC on the PS2.

That said... The trailer above is definitely not a system with specs similar to the PS2 (although the Wii may be more powerful, it is closer to the PS2's league than the PS3's).

dont get it for any nintendo products i was naive and thought Wii stepped up their game and made such beautiful graphics.

Everything's the sam except the graphics are far worse than Excite Truck

So you bought the Wii version? Does it drive just as well as the other versions, or have the physics been simplified?

Everything is pretty much the same. the physics is good, and all.

However the graphics IMHO is what made me not want to play the ugly game. everything is totally pixelized, super lack of anti-aliasing makes it look like the top of Playstation 1 graphics, even crappy graphics in a ps2 game looked better, so if you have a wii or NDS i strongly recommend you dont invest into it.

Resolution is of little importance to me. :) I'd rather have well-designed, well-textured, and special-effects-laden graphics at 640x480 than "above-average" graphics at 1920x1080. If the graphics are fine but just low-res, great. If the graphics are actually ugly and low-res, but the physics are good, that's great too. ;)

I might have to pick this up sometime.

Just hope that System 3 did a better job with testing on the Wii version than they did with the PS3 version.

The PS3 version is an excellent game (with a very strong physics engine) that has unfortunately needed quite a few updates before being 100% playable. Now they have mainly focused around the on-line side of things, but I thought it only fair to give you guys a heads-up.

Appreciated. 👍 I think I'll stick to my original plan of finding it for rental before buying.
