SMS announced on the Major Nelson podcast that a 10 car Ferrari DLC is coming soon.

Cars mentioned on the show:

- Ferrari FXX
- Ferrari F430
- Ferrari F50 GT
- Ferrari California

though apparently it will be a 10 car pack, no word on the others so far. There are physics files for a couple of variants of the F430 and F50 as it is now. Also a new tier for single player mode.

Listening to it myself now - "about" 10 cars, new achievements, new sub-objectives during races, new community-suggested events (?), Ferrari world tour event, all cars available and tunable online.

Also I seem to remember Ian Bell drives an F430, and in the interview Andy Tudor mentioned they have staff with 360s and 599s in the parking lot too, would be interesting if they show up :)

Hmm, just looking at the files again, in 1.02 there are things to do with

430/430C/430SC/430GTC
F50/F50GT
575 Superamerica
599
FXX
California

Which brings it to 10, but I don't know if it's really their style to give 4 variants of the same car rather than 1 or 2 that can be upgraded different ways. So maybe a few that aren't there yet still to come.

yessss something fresh, should be fun bouncing those ferraris over the curbs and maybe there will be something in it to sort all these glitches out.

I really do wish they would add more British tracks as for you guys that like DONNY and silver stone would love snetterton race circuit and knock hill a personal favorite of mine.

here is a lap off each

I'm just really happy that we are getting official versions and not something hacked together out of existing rFactor/GTR2 mods :)

The preview shots of these from Ferrari Project looked tasty. Let's see if I can find them again...

Those aren't from Shift, they're publicity/alpha shots from when Shift was "Ferrari Project" a year or two back. Wouldn't count on the track making it.

Absolutely. I'd really like another British track or two and a couple of Italian tracks. My favorites are San Marino and Monza, but some of the smaller Italian tracks from Ferrari Challenge would be great.
I wonder if they have plans to make new tracks available at some point...

Also if we're talking "things shown in ferrari project that probably won't make it to Shift" then this is probably the best one for inducing crying jags :(

Notice the fuel gauge :(

Ever since I went to see the british superbike championship round at knockhill about 10 years ago, when I was 6, I have wanted to drive around it. Toca Race driver had it which was immense. But driving it in shift, or indeed real life, would be a whole different experience.
Anyway, cant wait for these Ferraris. Any news on whether they'll be free or not?

Was browsing around shift again today and found some other track files for the AI:

autopolis_short
brands_hatch_gp_reverse
casino_riviera
chesterglen
chesterglen_drift
dakota_short
imola_era3
mistyloch
monte_grande
monza_era3
monza_era3_jr
port_boucle
test_track
monument_loop <- betting this one is the one from the ferrari project screens?

chesterglen and chesterglen_drift are technically still there, but with just locations for objects and some base physics - about 1/10 of what you would need to drive it.

there are definitely more tracks, whether we get them or when is another thing...

After first crappy DLC i thought that was it, that was every thing that EA would give to NFS fans. But if Ferrari's is true and not a fairy tail that means a long life for Shift, more to another GT5 release date change 💡 👍 i think I'm safe to say "polyphony go and f* yourself" ....

The Ferrari Racing Series has been officialy announced by NFS. Unfortunatley, according to their site, it's exclusive to the Xbox360.👎
Just like GTA Liberty City Stories was exclusive to Xbox 360 for about six months or so.

Either way, Ferrari coming back to NFS is a huge shot in the arm for the series, even if it's just on one console (for now). They now have all the major supercar manufacturers featured in-game. And more than likely they'll be back for NFS Criterion and NFS World Online.

I was really looking forward to the Ferrari DLC for PS3... I guess Sony wouldn't cough up the $$$ like Microsoft did, or some such BS.

History is littered with the bones of companies who ignored customer satisfaction in favor of the bottom line... because somebody else will come along and do it right. I hope I'm around to see EA's house of cards fall...
