So would anyone be interested in a series which pits upgraded 599's and Enzo's against each other?
Here are the ideas I have if people would be into such a series:

  • Cars tuned to around 750hp unless I can get hold of the real values, of course being equaled out for fairness.
  • Tires would be Racing Hards/Sports Softs.
  • 6/7 race series.
  • Would be held on a Saturday, and occupy the same timeslot (17:00 GMT Race Start) as Aderrrm's GT4 Cup; Series would not start until GT4 finishes.
  • All aids off except ABS, Grip set to Real and Tire/Fuel wear on.

Thoughts?

Its a good idea but there's so many damn race series and just no enough people that race....

I suggest you see if you can get into the Ferrari F1 championship with immortal pilot as the host.

There's always people waiting for the right combo. and series to draw them in, so there's no harm.

Yeah, and there's too many series with 'brand names'. They seem to be taken up with the same drivers and there's never any spots left for others. So series like this to me are more original and seem interesting. The only thing is the 599 isn't very good in this game.

A "brand name" let's you immediately know the quality of a product. And I understand where you're coming from about the perception on PURE series. Although there's always plenty of room and we get new people all the time I keep hearing, too many times, that people think PURE's an exclusive club when it's not. We have standards of course but anyone's free to join and encouraged to partake.

I think it came from the fact that we started out with JGTS, which was invitation only. But soon people will know all about what we're trying to achieve and the myth will be dispelled.

No, I think there are too many 'branded' series and not enough of other user's created series with interest. Everyone wants in on one of those types of series because they feel its the best and it is popular. Some of the racers are good and the regs are nice, but GTP members can make series that are just as good. This could be one of them, but the cars are too different to make equal IMO. The 599 I think is one of the badder GT type of cars in this game. The Enzo is hard to get right but it's much faster.

I wish we had the REAL 599XX  :( But like Seth said, the Enzo would kill it, and the 599 isn't a very good car in the game anyway. You would need some expert tuning to get them even. Good idea! You should have a one make FXX Series. Now that I would join. :sly:

Oh yeah I get what you mean now. You're saying there are too many leagues based on real life racing series and not enough series created from scratch by organizers. i agree that it would be cool to have more of them but there's only so much we can do when it comes to the field of cars we have available.

There's a strong community around here though, there must be at least a few hundred people who frequent the Racing Series forum.

I think people are slightly intimidated by PURE Wardez, mainly because you're so professional when it comes to racing. It's something I admire though being a series host; I'll definitely join one of your series if and when I have the time 👍

Like Wardez and Tom stated, there are many, many people out there who are just sitting on the fence waiting for the right series to come by, not to mention the number of people who regularly take part in series and the few that come across this section for the first time every day ;)

And thanks for the offer, but I can't make that time unfortunately.

Have to agree partly with you, monikers such as "Super GT" and "Le Mans" are overused, but it's personal preference and they bring in several drivers, so there can't be any complaints, I just wish people would look for the 'original' series more often rather than what is popular.

That may be, but I've tested both Ferraris, the Enzo at mostly original spec and the 599 with several upgrades as a result of some experimenting I did a while ago, and it seems like the handling is quite similar, only thing that would be an issue is the acceleration, which can be tuned. Seeing that there is some interest (a lot more than I got for IRT ), I will start testing these cars soon and see if I can balance them, I won't consider a Ferrari Enzo-only series unless they absolutely can not be balanced and there are no other options to look at (my back-up is the Lamborghini Murcielago SV :D).

About your IRT series: I really like the general concept, but besides the time-slot which I could never make, a few things put me off. First, the tire choice makes your series less accessible to non-highly skilled drivers. Sure, 500+ HP saloons on Sport Mediums is fun to drive, but it's very difficult to lap in anger with those tires, especially on some of the low-grip circuits you have on the schedule. The field is spread based on skill level more with less grip. Which ties into my next issue about two-classes. Two-classes halves the racing field and dilutes each class. I'm obviously speculating, and I hope you don't take offense, but I imagine if I raced in that series, I would be lapping on my own during those long races and would probably not contest any positions after the first lap. Just my take away.

About this concept: I actually like the sound of an Enzo vs Murcielago/Aventador type-series. I like the appeal of a conventional rivalry much more than the in-house variety. Throw on Racing Hards to make the cars drivable, and I would consider such a series.

Yeah true.

No offence taken whatsoever, in fact I'm thankful for the feedback you've given me, it's much better than getting none atall 👍

In hindsight, I know that I made some fatal mistakes with that series, the main one being Mixed Class racing, because people are only willing to race Mixed Class if it's under an established moniker (Le Mans). Tyre choice was made following the theme of the IRT, as roadcars naturally do not use Racing tyres, but if I go ahead with this I'll reconsider, I'm leaning towards Racing Hards but it could be Sport Softs, we'll see. Will probably launch this series under the IRT banner again, hopefully it will be a much more attractive proposition than the German Challenge.

Going to be launching something else soon, so I won't be coming back to this for a while, although when I do the 599 will be replaced with the Murcielago SV.
