Time to start a new thread since the last gentleman was unhappy with post. We are all in this together! I know this much, you need to set the Final Gear as LOW AS POSSIBLE and that the collosion penalties are quick on the draw and key to this test. I rely on these posts for setup cause, Me no mechanic, I'm just a driver. You fanatics for under the hood give me exactly what I need, except for this car which is why I started this thread.

Yeah, some idea would be nice, as I find this car hard to control.(I am everywhere in this thing). It makes a guy wonder why you would design a car this way. You can't use any of the power in, or, coming out of corners or you spin out. And if you take corners with less power, there seems to be understeer.

Making this beast more stable would be great.

Here are the settings I use for S6 / Suzuka in the F40:
Ride Height: -15/-15
Spring Rate: 6/6
Damper: 4/4
Toe (out/in): -0.50/+0.50
Camber Angle(-): 1.0/0.5
Brake Balance: 5/5
Turning Angle: 35
Traction Control: 1
ABS: 1
Final: 4.000

I managed to clear the event with a 3rd place. Unfortunately the race itself is down to too much luck with, in my case a Ford GT, Corvette and another F40 setting up a mobile road block at the start of the esses.

Good luck.

Here are my current settings that make this car drivable for me.

Ride Height 0/0
Spring Rate 2/2
Damper 1/1
Toe out/in +0.37/-0.37
Camber 2.5/2.0
Brake Balance 6/5
Max Turning Angle 38
Traction Control 2
ABS 1
Final Gear 3.718

I'll test Father_Driftmus' setting out as well.

Got 3rd (with a penality) rather easily with this setup

Here is what I used...

Power - 464 (-2)
Weight - 1311 (97)

Height: -12 -12
Spring: 8 8
Damper: 7 7
Toe: -0.18 +0.18
Camber: 0.8 0.8
Brake: 7 6
Turn: 50
Trac: 1
ABS: 2

Final: 3.700

Let me know if this helped 👍

Here're the settings that I use. I play with the DFP so I don't know if this works well or not with the pad.

Active Steering Off
Driving Physics Stanard
ASM Off

Power -18
Weight 85%

Ride Height -13/-13
Spring Rate 6/8
Damper 5/7
Toe -0.50/+0.50
Camber 1.0/0.5
Brake Balance 6/6

Turning Angle 40
TCS Off
ABS 1
1st - 5th Gear Default
Final Gear 4.500

This setting had allowed me to clock in at 'bout 2:21-2:22 pretty consistently for the 1st place.

well here's a cheap trick to help anyone struggling with this event. in the first turn, bump the 13th or so car in the 1st half of the turn. be careful only to nudge it and you will get a collision penalty but will still be going pretty fast. use your momentum to ghost through the rest of the cars in the turn and you can end up in 10th after the first turn. it cheap, i know, but given how we get screwed with the AI penalties. . .

I used this setup and got a 3rd place on my second try. But the gearing seemed like it could be a little better. And I increased the camber a little to tighten up the steering a little more. My changes ( in bold ) seemed to make it a little easier ( for me ) to drive. I still got 3rd, but I almost caught that R8, was only .5 seconds from getting a silver. (closest I've come to 2nd place).

Stategy, timing and practice. One collision penalty, keep going. Off the road, start over.
You can (just barely) get past 3 cars before the first turn. Go for the inside of the turn, cutting off the 13th place car and braking hard on the inside. It's close, but you can get your the front of your car about halfway past the 3rd car as you brake to the inside. Then coast (part throttle, 4th gear)) to the outside for the sharper turn 2. Brake and get down to 2nd gear. Get to the left exitting the turn, outside the Ford GT, and floor it. 3rd gear thru the esses. Extreme left side of track, there is room to pass 2 or 3 more cars on the short straight. Go for the inside of turn 3, left tires on the rumble strip, brake hard. As you exit turn 3, let the cars in front of you swing to your left and go for the inside of turn 4. If your timing is right, you can get inside the Corvette before turn 4. Not much room there, again use the rumble strip for more room so you don't contact the vette. Brake gently, swing to the left, passing another car, clip the rumble strips. almost off the road, there is room to pass another car on the inside. If you continue clipping the rumble strips and just barely avoid hitting anyone, you can be in 8th or maybe 7th by the time you leave the esses, accelerating in 3rd gear into the Dunlop curve (the long fast left hander after the esses). There will be a car right in front of you, he will swing out a little. You can pass him on the inside, with your left wheels just barely on the pavement. Use a little patience here, until he swings out, then dart for the inside for a clean pass. This should put you in 6th, going into the next right curve (Denger), actually two curves, one gentle in 4th and one tighter, down to 2nd gear, hard on the throttle and shift up to 3rd pretty quick. It's hard to get a clean pass in these 2 turns. Try for a fast exit from the 90* right hander, slightly going to the right side of the track. If done right, you can pass another car on the inside, just before the hairpin, but don't try it if you're not sure. Brake hard on the right side of the track before the hairpin, and go around the outside of the clump of cars there (1st gear). As you exit the hairpin, swing to the left as you shift to second gear. you should be right behind a viper. You can get to the outside of the long right hand sweeper and pass the Viper, and maybe another car if you carry enough speed. Ease off just a little at the middle of the long righthander, it's cresting a hill. Aim for the inside of the next sharp left, brake hard, 3rd gear, then gentle on the throttle, brake a little, 2nd gear for the next sharper left (Spoon curve). A short burst of 2nd gear, then a quick shift to 3rd will get you accelerating up the long uphill straight, just clipping the rumble strips on the right side of the track. You should be in 6th or 5th position by now. Thru the gears to 5th, draft when you get a chance, you should have enough speed to pass a couple more cars on the left. At the end of the staight, brake a little and down to 4th gear, coast around the fast left, as soon as you hit the apex, let the car settle for a split second, then floor it. You should be in 3rd by now. Catching the R8 in front of you (second place car) and passing him in the chicane ( Casio Triangle)...(brake hard just before the bridge) and the long right hand curve after that...well, I haven't been able to catch the R8 before the finish. But I'm getting closer. Last try I was .5 seconds behind him.
I hope this helps someone. I wish someone had written this for me when I was beating my head against a wall.

WOW! I did it, I just got SILVER, finally. I followed my own advice. I was 3rd after the Spoon curve, passed the R8 on the straight before the fast left hander. time...2:26.042. Whoopee.

@ VentureDenny cheers for the settings, just managed the last gold with them. now 100% gold on GT5p :)

again cheers 👍

@VentureDenny

Spot on! I ran a fairly sloppy race with your settings and a Driving Force GT. This car is easy to control. Managed to get silver even being sloppy (believe i had 2 penalties even.)

These settings should get you first if you run a consistent lap.

I've been trying for a while now. The best I can get is 2nd - can do it reguraly now but still lacking that extra edge to win. I need to find additional 1-1.5s to beat that Nissan. Probably some fine tuning is necessary - but still haven't found the right settings. Abyone with gold and some advice here?

Wish I could use F1 car ;-)

Dumbaboo's 👍 base worked best for me with a little tweaking of the gear ratios. My adjusted settings are below. Consistently second and a few firsts, came down to how aggressive i took the corners, so just my driving was the factor the car setup will get it done!

I've used the pad and the DFP with it to success.

Active Steering Off
Driving Physics Standard
ASM Off

Power -18
Weight 85%

Ride Height -13/-13
Spring Rate 6/8
Damper 5/7
Toe -0.50/+0.50
Camber 1.0/0.5
Brake Balance 6/6

Turning Angle 40
TCS Off
ABS 1

1st 2.346 66mph
2nd 1.518 103mph
3rd 1.206 129mph
4th 1.010 154mph
5th 0.846 189mph
Final 3.900

Hope this helps... great car when you get it dialed in! :sly:

Are you guys doing this on Pro or standard? I managed to get the event completed in standard but felt like I had cheated myself!! Now I am trying to gold it on Pro...

I just wanna say nice one for this tune 👍 I managed to get the gold on my fourth attempt! This race had been doin my head in :banghead: the best I could get was bronze, but no matter what could do no better. What a difference a good tune makes. Anyway Cheers :bowdown:

Thanks Denny....fooled around with this one yesterday, easy Silver @ 2.23.xxx...good enough for now. Just a couple of tweaks to your notes:

No need to downshift to 2nd in Turn 2, scrubs off too much speed.
Stay inside left in the hairpin, can b a good passing possibility sometimes.
The last sweeping left, turn 15, heading to the chicane can be taken full on in 5th...Cheers.....

Here're the settings that I use. I play with the DFP so I don't know if this works well or not with the pad.

Active Steering Off
Driving Physics Stanard
ASM Off

Power -18
Weight 85%

Ride Height -13/-13
Spring Rate 6/8
Damper 5/7
Toe -0.50/+0.50
Camber 1.0/0.5
Brake Balance 6/6

Turning Angle 40
TCS Off
ABS 1
1st - 5th Gear Default
Final Gear 4.500

This setting had allowed me to clock in at 'bout 2:21-2:22 pretty consistently for the 1st place.

thanks, this setup plus std physics and i got 3rd

Thread may be rather old and had no posts since February but the tunes still do the trick. I used Denny's tune and after an hour or so finally saw Gold on this event.

Serious aggression in the first few corners to pass as many cars as possible gives you best chance of catching the Black Mask!

Cheers for the Tune!

Here is what I have come up with. Still have yet to see a gold, but I can get 2nd every time with relative ease. I am about 1 second behind first.

S6 - Suzuka - F40 Mission Race

Auto Transmission
Power: -2%
Weight: 97%
Tires: S3 (Event Specified)
Aero: Rear 5 (fixed)
Height: -11 -11
Springs: 5 6
Dampers: 5 5
Toe: +0.18 +0.50
Camber: 1.6 1.2
Brakes: 8 6
Max Turn: 50 (try using less if the steering is too sensitive)
ABS: 1
TCS: OFF

Gears:
1: 2.346
2: 1.765
3: 1.349
4: 1.068
5: 0.846
F: 3.260

This gives me consistent lap times of about 223. I have no doubt that I should be able to get first with this tune, however my driving skill on this track is still lacking. My best lap thus far is 222.189, which is just under a second behind 1st.

Edit: Finally made 1st place. I won by half a car length, and it was intense. We were bumping an sliding through the last 2 turns and all the way to the finish. Awesome replay.

I never thought of adding weight to the car and increasing the power - I can get second nearly every time, have caught but could not pass on the last turn three times yesterday. Average time right now mid 24's...

Nice work. I really hated this event...in a good way :) It was extremely challenging for me. Took me half a day to get first place.

Now I am working on S10...again stuck with second place finishes...:ouch:

my F-40 Gold tune, it took me forever to beat this event, so I thought I would share. I don't have a wheel yet, and this was done on auto, and standard.
