Where do I start? I have been a lifetime GT fan until GT5 came out. I bought it and played it for a couple of months. A friend of mine told me that the FM4 demo was out on the 360 and how amazing it was when he compared the 2 games. Me having never played a 360 in my life I ran out and bought the 360 just so I could play the FM4 demo. After 15 minutes on the demo I listed my PS3 on craigslist and it was gone the next day. This isnt a which game is best thread but for me FM4 was better. Now I have herd of the GT6 demo coming out and how much people are loving it. I am thinking of running out and buying another PS3 so I can play it. Before I do that I have a few questions.

1. Will GT6 have the Premium and standard cars like GT5 or will all cars be Premium? I race in cockpit view only so this weighs heavily on my decision.

2. How many and what cars can you drive in the demo?

3. Is it a big leap forward between GT5 and GT6?

Thanks for all the help.

I think you have too much money.

But I digress!

1) Yes, standards are back.

2) 3 cars in the demo. Nissan 370Z (although there may be 2 variations on it, I can't remember), Nissan Leaf and Nissan 24Hr GTR R-35 of some kind.

3) It's up for debate. We won't know fully until it's released. There's word about it having a new tyre model that's not in the demo, and a couple of other bits like that. Try here and here for the opinions people have given. I really liked it, but I tend to like all of them anyway.

Standards are back but there will be over 400 premiums and the standards will have upgraded exteriors, probably no cockpit, although we don't know for sure.

Perhaps you should borrow a PS3 and try the demo before buying a console.

1. All cars from GT5 will be in GT6. So the standard cars will remain. However, some functional differences between the standard and premium cars will be gone, such as photomode functionality and possibly customization options. When it comes to premium cars, GT6 will have somewhere around 200 more premium cars than GT5.

2. In the demo you can drive the Nissan Leaf, the Nissan 370z and the Nissan GT-R.

3. The new suspension model is a fairly big leap forward. The cars feel more alive, with weight shift and body roll. In GT5 they're rather stiff in comparison. The tyre model will be improved as well, but it's hard to say anything about that at this point.
The new graphics is a leap. But perhaps a bigger leap sideways than forward. Some things are improved, other things are a bit worse. Personally I like the new graphics better than GT5, but I'm also running at 720p, it seems like people who are running it at 1080p are having some framerate issues.
The loading times are improved a lot (in the demo, not clear what it will be in the final game).
It's hard to tell what the gameplay changes will be, the demo is just a small sample.

Thanks for the info guys. Still undecided on what to do. I have pre ordered the x1 and FM5 but in my honest opinion I feel that FM5 will be a letdown. I wish they would release GT6 on the PS4.

Don't get too excited by the term "demo". The GTA 2013 Demo is mainly TT's with of course the GTA Qualifier. The only Events with other cars on track are with the Nissan Leaf and 370Z. The AI is hopelessly slow on those 4 Events. New GT6 physics is the main attraction in addition to being able to drive Silverstone. That is unless you think you have a shot at GTA.

You can also wait until Christmas (or Black Friday or whatever) for almost imminent PS3/GT6 bundle.

3. Is it a big leap forward between GT5 and GT6?

It's hard to tell at the moment, but in terms of physics I would say yes. The new suspension model is amazing, now you can actually feel the weight transfer of the car and have a better sense of where the grip is when you're cornering. It really makes the game much more immersive, and honestly it's making it a bit difficult for me to go back to GT5 and still enjoy it.

1. There will be over 400 premium cars, and standards will be back but I don't see the problem with them. First of all, they do have blacked out cockpit views, and the open cockpit standard cars have low res cockpit views. Plus, 400 cars is plenty, so why not add the standards in? Most people use them, and it doesn't hurt the game if they exist, just don't use them if you don't want to.

I race from cockpit view too. I would rather not play than use other views but standard cars aren't an issue. Especially when we have 400 premiums.

2. You can drive 5 different cars in the demo. All of them are GT Academy editions except the last. The Nissan Leaf, Nissan 370z, Nissan 370z tuned (for the GTA competition, Nissan GT-R, and Nissan GT-R GT3 Race Car (won't be availabe until July 28th)

3. Physics wise, absolutely. Without a doubt the physics are more realistic while also being much more fun and satisfying to drive. Also, the menu's are much improved. The presentation is better. Loading times are faster by a lot. Menu's are much more responsive, and the lighting and shadows are much better. Also the HUD is improved as well. The GT original tracks look very improved over the GT5 versions (graphically). The native resolution has increased from 1280 by 1080 to 1440 by 1080. There's also no screen tearing even in cockpit view unlike GT5.

The only downsides should only be temporary since it's a demo. The AI and sounds are the same as GT5, but Kaz said that those are just placeholder sounds/AI until they finish the final versions of those. There's some aliasing, frame rate drops as low as 30, and blur in the graphics but a recent gameplay video showed that it won't be in the final game. Mechanical damage and tire wear is off in the demo.

Overall, a GT fan will be very happy with the improvements, especially the physics, and hopefully they give us some good AI and sounds in the final version.
