Hi Guys,

Really enjoying the premise of the FIA championship seasons and have had good races so far. The only thing that I don't like at the moment is the frequency of the rounds, as I think that 1 round per day is too little time to prepare and the sense of a true seasons racing is lost. Now I know this a test season and so perhaps the purpose of the 7 day format is to gather data about how a season will pan out so PD can be ready for next year and then we may have a longer season once the championships start for real?

I finished work last night and by the time I got sat down ready to fire up GT I had about 1 1/2 hours before the latest race entry times in which to practice 2 different tracks in 2 different cars which felt rushed and not much different to the daily races. Just wondered what others thoughts are on this?

Cheers

I think they should just spread it out a little, not everyone has the time to race for 2 hours every day... Maybe spread the rounds out over the space of a week, or even 3/4 days. The championships will be longer but then they kind of are in other motorsport disciplines

You don't have to race both series, you are doubling your workload there.

But also, if you check the calendar out, you'll notice the races become weekly very soon.

Finally, only the best 3 of the races you do while in this daily format count.

It is a bit manic though I agree.

Interesting points there. Funny enough I had actually decided last night to only focus on the manufacturer championship because it only includes Gr.4 and Gr.3 race cars and whilst I like driving the road cars, I'm not interested in racing them.

I hadn't noticed this but that's great because I think weekly would be perfect and more like a real season with time to practice.

Yeah I had seen this but I would like to compete in all rounds to give myself the best chance of good points at the end of the season. If things don't go to plan in a few races then the others could come in handy.

With you there, I'm racing the Manufacturers Series but only like racing Gr.3. I have had very little practice in Gr.4 so it's a little sketchy, but I grabbed a 2nd place yesterday so that's not a bad banker race for the remaining Gr.3's. My first Gr.3 was with a very low DR and so I got basically no points, grinded the daily races since then!

Nice work. I have recently starting shifting my attention more towards the daily GR.3 races because of the longer races with tyre wear and fuel usage. Up to now I was pretty much racing only in the Gr.4 class but since the move to daily changes, the number of laps just isn't enough and feels a little rushed.

Maybe with weekly rounds for the championships in the future I could devote more time to doing more laps in practice with the road cars, so I might consider doing those races too. I'm impressed so far and looking forward to seeing what PD do to evolve the game.

But not get too excited. The test season was initially also scheduled for once in a week. Nations on Sat and manufacturers on Sun.... lets see what PD brings up next and how. Hard to predict as usual ;)

I remember before the update that the races were spread out weekly. I’m guessing since it’s a test season it’s each day and it will go to being weekly like t was before. I also think they took away one of the tournaments. It was three tournaments and each race weekly

In New Zealand Championship races don't begin until 10pm which is just too late for many of us, starting them just 1 hour earlier would make a huge difference to us at the bottom of the world.
