Fiat Multipla

I wonder how the front airbags work in the fiat multipla.
Its a three seater in front and according to fiat, the airbag(s) in front are meant to protect three persons.
So, does the airbag for the middle guy come out from the dashboard or the airbags from the side passenger and driver inflate big enough to cover him?

interesting point, however i was under the impression that anyone entering a multipla is automatically nailbombed for getting into such an ugly car

Well the driver's airbag is contained in the steering wheel, so there are either two passenger airbags in the front, or one massive one.

BTW, INSIDE a Multipla is definitely the best place to be. Count yourself lucky you're not driving a Xsara Picasso!

The middle person is in high risk if there isn't an airbag.
His/her head will knock the dash. Worst, the gear stick will go into his/her eye socket.

yes head through gearstick syndrome is a mess good enough to ruin anyone's day. i doubt its as sophisticated as the mercs or audis that pull the engine and 'car' away from the driver in the event of an impact or something.

To understand the Multipla, look INSIDE. It's all about packaging the interior space.

Or lack of it. Wereas most MPV's can carry 7, the Multiply can only carry 6.

The Multipla isnt suppose to be a direct competitor to the Odyssey or Voyager, its more the Renault Scenic, Opel Zafira class.
And apparantly, its suppose to be very good minus the looks

Its sooo ugly - and the top of the dash is covered in the same cloth as the seats !!! lol Just in case you want to sit up there for a better view !!!!!

the exterior has grown on ME like an anthrax induced skin fungus! i wouldn't go near the interior but the dash covered in cloth?
