The Confederations Cup starts tomorrow in Germany, with 8 countries divided in two groups:

Group A

Germany

Australia

Argentina
tun.gif
Tunisia

Group B

bra.gif
Brazil
gre.gif
Greece

Japan

Mexico

The opening games are Argentina vs Tunisia (18:00hs local time) and Germany vs Australia (21:00hs local time). TV here is showing only the second game, but I don´t know if I´ll be able to watch it since it´s on work time here.

I know it´s not the World Cup, but it must be fun to watch anyway. Brazil sent some good players over there. It´s the main team mostly, with the exception of a few players, like Ronaldo.

For more info on this event go here.

I remember France appearing in it last year and the death of Marc Vivien Foe during a game. On a lighter note, a much more worthwhile tounament than the one England played in the U.S.

I couldn´t watch any of those games, but I´ll try to catch the goals on tv news.

Great start for Brazil, not so great for Zico and Japan. I couldn´t watch the game, but I´ll see the highlights on the news soon.

Anyone saw any of these two games, care to share how was it?

I saw the Brazil game. It really was no contest. Adriano's goal was incredible and they could/should've scored a few more.

Robinho looked pretty hot and Ronaldinho had a pretty good game. Brazil are my favourites at the moment.

*EDIT - Next game on ch5, 7 June 7:30pm (KO 7:45pm) MEXICO v BRAZIL

I just saw the match´s highlights, Adriano´s goal was great! Juninho´s too.

Robinho looks hot huh? :P

Trying not to sound like Michael Barrymore, but Robinho always looks hot. Well his football anyway ;)

I watched the Japan Mexico game, it was a pretty good game. I was asleep during the Brazil v Greece match though. Although it sounds like they got demolished.

Good resuts today, lots of goals. Argentina x Germany should be a great game to watch.

Also, let´s keep an eye open for Brazil vs Mexico tomorrow. :D

Greece played crap, they hardlycreated any chances at all.

Japan 1 x 0 Greece

Mexico 1 x 0 Brazil :indiff:

Ah, what a crappy game! Brazil played very badly and Mexico did its homework. It was supposed to be 2x0 actually because of a penalty Mexico had, but the judge made the player repeat the penalty twice and Dida managed to deffend it.

Now Brazil has to beat Japan in order to move on to the semi finals (I think a draw will do actually), let´s see if we play better against Zico´s team.

More like three times that he had to repeat the Penalty. Brazil did play crappy, at the beginning they looked like they somewhat dominated Mexico, but Mexico came alive on the second half. :ouch:

And there´s one more Brazil x Argentina match in a few hours. São Paulo x River Plate for the Libertadores Cup semi-finals. I hope to see the same results. :D

Great match, although it's a shame that it was a bit of a walkover. I think it would have been a bit different if Saviola and Crespo were playing, but then they'd never get any rest.

Third place finish:Germany/Alemania
I thought that Argentina would play better, didn't get to see the game but heard it was a good match but Argentina just couldn't hold on, is this true?

The first 2 goals where awesomes 👍

****, you know you want to see Adriano playing for Chelsea. Fat Sol Cambell would have a heart attack.

I didn't understand why Tevez doesn't manage to get a starting place in the Argentine squad, surely he's just behind Saviola and Crespo?

I don´t like Tevez, specially now he´s playing here on Corinthians. :yuck:

And yeah, I guess Argentina couldn´t hold on to Brazil, but the same happened two weeks ago in Argentina when we lost 3x1 to them. All of a sudden it was 3x0 and there was nothing we could do. I guess playing on a neutral field helped the Brazilian team. Argentina´s crowd is pretty loud.

A bit off topic, São Paulo beat River Plate yesterday in Buenos Aires, the score was 3x2. So now we´re in the Libertadores Cup finals, and tonight Atlético Paranaense is playing versus Mexico´s Guadalajara, but Atlético won the first game 3x0 so we´re probably going to have a Brazilian final. 👍

Haven't corinthians done pretty crap anyway? Even though they have a boatload of cash. From what I saw of Tevez when he was at boca I thought he was pretty good.

Didn't Guadalajara knock out Boca and then Bocas manager quit?

Yeah, Guadalajara scored 4x0 on Boca in Mexico. But now they´re out of Libertadores too, 2x2 with Atlético last night. A Brazilian final for the first time. :)

And yeah, Corinthians spent a lot of money with Argentinians, I don´t know why... First they got Tevez and some coach, now they´re also purchasing a River player I can´t remember the name. All I can remember is he was supposed to get a red card about 5 times on wednesday against São Paulo.
