"Long awaited by enthusiasts everywhere, it's official-the rotary returns to the United States. The design is final and ready for production-the Mazda RX-8 will be available in 2003.

To put it simply, the Mazda RX-8 completely redefines the sports car. Legendary RX performance and modern functionality co-exist in the Mazda RX-8, bringing harmony and communication between car, driver and road to a totally new level."

Rock on, maybe I'll have my pennies saved up by then.

Do you think a reworked two-seater version of the 787B would look good? The cockpit would have to be a bit bigger, and it would need some kind of a normal dash, with air conditioning and a radio. Maybe they could just increase the overall size of the car a little, and keep the form as close to the same as possible. Then drop in a 13B twin turbo. I'd save my pennies and nickles to get one! And besides, it's already got two doors, they're part way there ...

V8? What V8? The 787B has a 4-Rotor Rotary engine. Ain't no stinkin` "V" here baby! ... And 500 - 600 hp? Try 700+ at 9000rpm.

Front pictures .... this is what I've found:

Seven Stock 4

There are several picture sites listed on the right side menu. Here are some good examples of the Mazda 787B from the front:
