Final Rant

I took a minor break from this game in April. There was a week or so where I didn't even pick it up to play at all. It had nothing to do with the game itself but, my work schedule. The "new and shiny" had finally wore off of Sport and it just became another title in the catalog. As I noticed that I hadn't played it over that week I decided to brush it off and play it some that weekend. I had a little fun with it but put it down as another work week approached.

Low and behold sometime later that week I picked the title up again bound and determine to get back on my daily grind of earning cars and completing daily races in sport mode to help my rank. I fought with myself and my work schedule on and off through most of May logging in on an average of every other day and completing daily workout gifts and a couple of the circuit tracks here and there.

Then this past week came and went. I picked up the title sometime again last Saturday. Got on and began to grind. I haven't looked at the stats but I can guarantee you that right around the time of ANOTHER penalty system tweak and my past week I've had 10 straight races or more of negative SR. In that time of picking the title up a week ago and today I went from an S to a D. A ****ing D.

The one thing that I took pride in this game in is now gone. I gave up being competitive and I'm happy with my B rating. I don't aspire to go any higher and I was completely content staying at that level through the remainder of my time with Sport. The only thing that kept me going was the reputation rating of being an S driver so that you knew I raced cleanly.

This penalty tweak again has ruined this game. I can't get a clean race as people barrel into me and I get penalties. I can't make a pass in B-C lobbies without the person I'm passing taking a swipe at my vehicle or pit maneuvering me into a corner. As I watched my rating plummet the lobbies I got in only got worse and worse as each little tiny infraction added up again, and again, and again.

The last thread of hope for this game is that the mid-june push back is a final tweak to the penalty system and good fair drivers can have not only their driving lines back but, their dignity. This truly is the last "battle" of wills I'm having with this game. After the FIA races if this penalty system is still intact this game will be trade fodder and I will never come back to this series again.

Believe me, you are not alone. This penalty system is hurting us all, and some more than others. I myself just regained my A+ after getting reset to DR C after a string of bad races. I too had to deal with the awful sportsmanship at the lower SR ranks and each race seemed to dig the hole further.
When you find yourself in that hole, take some time to cool off and come back later. If you keep your nose clean for a few races at all costs then you will eventually crawl your way back to SR S where the environment is far more proactive...
We've all pulled hairs at some point or another over the flawed ranking system, but you learn to adapt and avoid catastrophe over time. And there's always the hope that if the penalty system has been revised once, then surely it's bound to be revised again. Hopefully for the better this time -_-

If you get a reset you’ll end up with less capable drivers. What you need to do is focus on getting a good qualifying time so that you start at or near the front. Get past the first corner and it should be up to you whether you have a clean race or not. Don’t try and overtake or defend if needs be, until you’re out of the quagmire of low SR. It only takes about 3 perfectly clean C races to go from SR D to S

I've been reset probably 5 times now, once losing over 40k DR in the span of 2 races, but so what. It's just a letter, it doesn't make me any slower or less capable whether the letter next to my name says A+ or D. It's not like they aren't trying their best to improve the system with every patch

I'm a B driver too and any time my SR dropped, I found I could win pole without much effort. I racked up some wins too and leading start to finish gets you a large boost to your SR. I get back to SR S very quickly.
