Hello folks,
many years now I only had my pedals mounted in F1 style (standing) on wheelstand, rig & co.
But today I finally got another shipment of some aluminium profiles & accessoires and converted my pedals to hanging ones.
I'm quite happy with the outcome. Only tested a bit "offline" (with PC off) so far but it feels very good.
Now I'm here to encourage people, who thought about doing this, to do it. I thought it would be an eazy peazy task but it took me 3 hours to build, integrate and adjust everything. 2 persons for this would be really easier.
I also had to extend the cables coming from clutch and throttle as they switched sides from being upside down now, but luckily those cables and connectors are very very cheap.
You might think it's not that different from standing pedals, but pressing on standing tables is more stress for the ankle and driving for a longer time should be more comfortable with hanging pedals. I also look forward to get a tiny bit more brake control.
I left the throttle standing as it's a common configuration. But I can now easily switch them to hanging position just to try out which is better (everything prepared for that)
That's how it was before:
The new parts:
Now adjusting pedal positions:
The result:
Soooo... now I can think about what the next addition to my rig could be haha... it never ends.
