My white brick 360 died for the 4th and last time.

Keep in mind this is one of the first gen 360s that does NOT have HDMI. I have to admit I am beyond shocked how long it lasted since the 3rd repair. My 360 had its 3rd repair 3 years ago (repaired by microsoft on 6/11/09 after the 3rd 3RROD). Last night it started flashing 2 red lights. This is the first time I have seen 2 red lights. Its usually 3. So I shut it off, waited a few minutes. Turned it back on and then about another 20 minutes later, it shut off again with 2 red lights. I put a fan directly on it and 15 minutes later, 2 flashing lights again. I am happy to say that even though I have had some bad 360s, this 3rd repair from microsoft was an excellent repair. Lasting 3 years on a 360 this old is quite impressive. So tonight I am excited to get a brand new shiny black slim 360. Should look real nice next to my new PS3 and my wifes GOW3 slim 360.

I am not really interrested in Kinect so now I need to figure out exactly which 360 I need. I dont want the 4gb so it has to be at least 250gb. I will probably check Gamestop or Best Buy and see what deals they have.

EDIT.

Gamestop has a refurbished slim 360 250gb hd for $250.00. The 2 year warranty is $50.00. Plus they will take my old 360 for about $100.00.

Best buy has a new bundle pack slim 360 250gb hd for $299.00. Comes with a DL code for Halo Reach. Also comes with Fable 3. The 2 year warranty is $80.00.

Looks like I am leaning toward the Gamestop 360.

Ended up buying the 4gb 360 from Gamestop and then bought the 320gb hd to go with it. Grand total $299.00. Killer deal for 320gb and brand new. So I am all excited and head home to hook it up. Start looking at the box and noticed the clear sticker thats on the box to keep the box shut, was "relocated" and you could see where it was supposed to be. So at this point its obvious this thing has been opened. Ok no big deal as long as everything looks good inside the box. I start inspecting the 360 and controllers and see that this thing has clearly been used, probably by a Gamestop employee. Not too happy about that. I hook it up, transfer the 120gb to the 320gb which took about 45 minutes. Start playing, instantly freezes on my first game within 2 minutes. At this point I am very frustrated. So the next day I returned it and made sure I got a brand new 360 and got the 2 year warranty. But sheesh I would not recommend getting a new 360 from Gamestop. I would have understood this if I got the refurbished 360 but I bought the brand new 360. Just shows that you never truly know what you are getting. Also proves that not only does Gamestop open the games, they clearly open and use the 360s as well. Oh also, it was the matte finish which doesnt look bad at all. In fact it matches my slim PS3 perfectly since its also matte finish.

Yes she has her own 360 and also plays the PS3. We have always been gamers and have always had our own consoles. :)
