I have been this on a day now and my quick first impressions were not that great on the demo or on my first race at Maple Valley but on closer inspection the scenery back grounds of Bernese Alps and a few others have been really touched up and in some places look like real video footage when you stop.

Other new tracks seem to not do so well and maple valley trees and grass really go a step backward on par with Xbox360 Maple Valley.:(

I like all the new UI and the character costumes and again when they stand there they look photo real (loading screen). It is a shame you can not use them in Photo mode anywhere apart from interiors of cars.

The photomode has a taken a great step forward with more detailed interiors and better external shading and polygons on the cars. You can really tell the quality jump on the 4k TV. The skies are great and better and more realistic than Forza Horizon 3 and make the photos for the first time seem much more real than original 'Forza' look. Other cars and shading seems to have gone darker or less detailed a strange mix of 'outstanding' and 'poor'.

I really do not like to grind for hours to play with a certain car  and it is great they have thought of that and let you set up any race/free play or test with all the free loan cars (if you select category to ALL) and then do the career in your own time.:cheers:

Overall a small step up from Forza 4,5,&6 but enough for me not to want to go back to those again and this will have everything I need in it with all the cars I will ever need.

Verdict so far: Quietly Impressed 👍

I will update when I have played a little more but if any one else has their first impressions feel free to post them.

Well to me the graphics look very good as they always do on Forza titles.
The things that make the biggest impression on me is the new car divisions which I like very much and the fact they have added some incentive to run the races in career mode by giving award cars. I also really like the way they have did test drive in 7 it is much better now to use than in any previous version. I really couldn't care less about the driver gear.

On the other hand the negative impressions I get are from the lack of open rivals events for the new divisions, still no tuning in a private online lobby, no ai in private lobby, no ability to open a user created lobby to the public and of course there are some bugs that can cause the game to act up and even crash.

Overall I like the game a lot, hopefully they get some of the bugs ironed out right away and get those open rivals online soon. Not sure if we will ever get user created public lobbies back or the ability to tune in any online lobbies but am hoping we do.

Agreed on the FM5 and FM6. On this generation of consoles each new FM game does improve a bit over the previous installment. Apart from Toyota, Lexus and a few other cars, I see no reason to go back to FM5 or FM6.

FM4 is a whole different ballpark though, I don't own an XBox 360 myself but it has so many circuits that are not in the current generation. I assume for the first line of Forza fans FM4 still has a lot of value.

Yes Forza 4 was great in it's day and one of the best games i had at the time but having tried it the other week on the old 360 it and the xbox have now retired in the loft/attic and put away. I will miss the tracks but I can't have all these old consoles out. Ps3 will follow soon too once GTS comes out. ;)👍
