Quick background on me:

Been playing a lot of DiRT series, GTS, and WRC7. Use a T300GTE.

First car I chose was the BMW 2002 and went to the California Coast layout using the default settings.

Now I can’t make a full assessment from 15 minutes of play, but the default steering force seems really strong. Like burn out my wheel eventually strong. Is that the correct baseline or am I doing something wrong?

I fiddled with some of the settings to lessen the strength but sort of gave up for the time being. Any recommendations or advice?

The Force Feedback is extremely different from car to car. Chances are when you change to the next car the ffb wont be half as strong. Did you calibrate your wheel?

1) Calibrate wheel to 900
2) Calibrate pedals
3) Configuration Settings....

4) Try my FFB settings...

Turn Gain in FFB down to 85, your T300 is quite a bit stronger than my T150.
Gain and Volume is what you want to fine tune to get the feel you want.

Volume that high at 80 will be insanely heavy steering with the t300

Not really. I have a T300, my profiler is set to 100, game gain at 100, and I run most cars in the 55-65 range and they're not all that heavy and nowhere near clipping. I've been up around 80 on some cars without clipping or being very heavy. Depends on your flavor too, if you use Informative or Immersive it auto-tunes your FFB to avoid clipping so 80 might end up feeling more like 50 after it's done with the auto-tune.

Similar settings for me as well - PS4 - T300. I always check the HUD to insure no clipping, and it almost never clips at these settings.
