Hey all, I finally got my first trophy in all my life.
It was for second place in bracket racing but its still a trophy and 15 dollars money.
I was running the 1/8 mile and had consistent 9.3's with .6 r/t. Ive been practicing for a few weeks and the payday finally happened.
The first two rounds I had to let off of the gas before I broke out and run 9.45's on both runs, for the win.
On the last run for the finals, everything looked good for the win, with one exception. Me.
With a r/t of .420, I red lighted and still run a 9.39 with a 9.35 dial in for the night. Talk about close. If I would have got my r/t right, I would have won the whole thing. Oh well, nerves of steel, I aint. lol
The car was prepped big time for racing and was running very well. Matter of fact, my first run down the strip was a 9.37 and surprised the heck out of me in doing that.
Two weeks ago, I ran the same track with the car in street trim (full weight, stereo, 16's all the way around etc) and was running consistent 9.7's that night.
Lastly, my car club place 1st and 2nd in a car show held at Gulfport Dragway in the StreetWars racing held last week. It was a good showing for the MSCA and the name is getting out.
Thought I'd share the joy.

One day, when your racing career blossoms, you can say it all started with that first trophy.

Congratulations!

Lol, yeah its a first one, just dont want to make a career out of it. Its too much fun right now and by Summers end, will be faster.
Things are coming together on the car and plan some internal stuff like cams, p&p, 3 angle valve job and improved intake manifold mod from the older QuadIV engines.
Thanks ppl. ;)
