Hi guys! (and gals... if we have any )
This is where you will find all my best photomode pics...

I just got GT5 and though I might as well go for a quick spin with the controller before waiting the 50 mins for the install + patch. I decided to take a couple of photomode shots and then get on with the install. Anyway here is my first GT5 pic and sure to not be my last.. It is a combination of 5 shots taken at different exposure settings and then composted together to create an HDR image. I then ran it through lightroom and gave it some split toning... which I know isn't everybody's cup of tea.. but I like it!

I wish PD would give us the ability to save as uncompressed TIFF from GT5 as the compression artifacts in the JPGs are horrid.

26/11/2010 - Update

Here are a few more pics, The first 2 are HDRs again and the rest are normal photomode pics... 50% size this time

I'm sorry for going SSR-7 like EVERYBODY else.. but it is very cool

It's simply the most "alive" photomode pic I've seen until now.

HDR is fun and should be really nice with Photo-travel and its 8mp images. Its tricky in photo-mode during replays because the images are so small (compared to usual DSLR pics) and the JPG compression artifacts which usually don't cause a problem become a real issue when you HDR the image.

Being able to output as TIFF would solve that problem but would take up allot more space on your PS3 hard drive. I also dunno why PD don't let you output at something a bit bigger from photomode, 1920-1080 is too small these days...

Great to know! i'll try it as soon as I get the game (its getting hard to receive my copy here in Brazil )

Btw, when you save one shot, the camera keeps stopped on your last shot position? That really makes it easier for some HDR shots eh? In GT4, if I'm not mistaken it used to reset the camera, right?

Yes the camera stays in the exact position you took the first shot. Its very easy to do HDR because all you need to do is adjust the exposure between each shot.. I checked in photoshop with a couple of the images and the alignment is perfect.

Awesome shot! I really like the filter you've applied, but the road reflection isn't too pretty (taken from in-game?) and it makes the side door look kind of weird. But other than that I really like this first piece of yours 👍

Maybe a small tip for you and possibly others as well: You may want to post your images in a smaller resolution and link or direct link it to the full-size one. 20 posts filled with 1280X960 pictures may make the modem users go insane

My M3 is back!

This is a 5 shot panorama HDR with 3 shots at each "angle" for the HDR exposures = lots of photos to work with!
