"The presentation of concepts to those that may be the most daring proposals of mobile phone manufacturers, in a more or less distant future, appear to be on the agenda. After Nokia, it's time for Samsung. And we feel tempted to say that in this case, reality can not be far from fiction.

The concept now presented through a video released by the Korean manufacturer, shows a device made just for an AMOLED screen, ultra-thin, transparent, flexible, and thus folding.

These features will have important repercussions not only in terms of space available for viewing content - as they allow the equipment becomes compact, for example, be stored in a pocket - but it's size to ensure a comfortable time to view the contents.

Another added value is the expected longer battery life, since a thinner screen expend less energy, as explained by the manufacturer itself during the launch of Galaxy Nexus in Lisbon.

Alongside the presentation of the new mobile phone from Google, responsible for marketing the company in Portugal showed that the increased longevity of the battery is part of the equipment manufacturer's strategy for next year.

Reducing the thickness of the screens is one of the ways in which the brand hopes to do, being, for example, secured a partnership with the Portuguese researcher Elvira Fortunato to create a much thinner screen.

While the idea still is just that, it's worth seeing the video that mirrors what the engineers at Samsung have in mind ..."

I translated the article:D. I found it amazing and especially the part where the guy is having an easy conversation with a french girl:tup:. OH and the part of the Portuguese researcher too:dopey:.

Keep in mind that is all a running concept. There isn't space for the CPU, battery, etc on what they showed. Likely same with the translation software, though dynamic translation has come quite a ways.

Curious to see what the actual product is like and how it will be applied.

Holy Jesus, that's some serious vapour-ware right there.

Looks proper impressive.

But totally full of marketing fluff at the moment.

^Not really, we will see the first phone with it before 2015. Not like in the vid (only display).
Half a year ago this was planned for after 2020 but due to a break through in research with graphite it is now possible a lot sooner.

Will try to find the article i read...

Think tvs that work like a window shade in your house. All the electronics can be stored along the top in a box the length of the screen. The electronics box would have to be paintable , ofcourse, to match your home decor ;)
