Well.. I typed up race finish, fastest laps, gaps between finishers, final finishing time, lap leaders, and overall fastest lap... hit submit, not realizing my laptop had decided to no longer be connected to wifi.

So.. I don't feel like re-typing it right now. If someone else will do it awesome.. Otherwise I will re-type and post it later tonight. Been one of those days.

And Nastra, to answer your question earlier from the race room. Thanks for asking if it was your fault that I went off, but it was mine. And thank you for such a fun race. I managed to pass you when you had cold tires, but couldn't shake you. It was a great battle, congrats on 2nd place my friend.

Did I lead a lap?

Turbo I'm going to need to drop out of this series I don't have the time to practice to keep up with anyone. So let the reserves know there is a spot open for Div 3.

Nastradamus87
While not my favourite track in the world, it's not bad, especially for a custom track.

Race Report

Got some good practice in which paid off when I qualified third behind Greennarcotics and RedReevos.

Start of the race was smooth with no contact in the first corners and I stole second place. (Red didn't have the best start and got banged around a lot in the first few corners :scared:.)

I kept up with Green and passed him on lap 8. I held the lead until the 10th lap when Green took it back. Lap 11 Nep slipped by and the three of us stuck together until this happened on lap 12:

After that, the gap between me and Nep stayed about 2.5 second. On lap 18 RedReevos caught me. At that point I gave up on Nep (who I probably never would have caught) and began conserving my tires to try and keep second. Red and I kept it clean and simple until the last lap. Here is our final lap battle:

Looks like bad lag to me first video BTW turbo could update the car photos cheers

Here's the temporary results for Division 2. I won't be able to update everything until tomorrow.

Holy crap! Another close finish between you and outlaw! You guys are crazy! Congrats to outlaw.

Put the car on pole with a 34.1, had 33's in it on 2 or 3 lap tires as Aderm showed. When the race started, I was in grid in 9th or 10th position, and everyone's grid spot was jumbled. The race was not restarted, and it completely ruined my race. After managing to get through traffic, despite blowing up my tires to claw all the way back to 4th and about 10-15 car lengths back from the lead pack, I could not catch their draft and there was nothing I could do to keep up with Outlaw/1600 who contently lapped in the 34's/35's with ease while piggybacking in the slipstream and taking care of their tires. I had to drive balls to the wall just to meet their pace, and spent the whole race alone.

Next time, we all need to speak up about restarting the race if the grid is messed up. I should have said something. I didn't, and it ruined my race, and it was disappointing, and not fun. I don't mean to be a debby downer, or take this too seriously, but if the goal is to have fun and run this series like a legit championship then I think we all dropped the ball tonight. Oh well, it is what it is, next time I will just quit out at the start and proclaim that the grid is effed so we can fall in line properly.

Anyway, congrats to Outlaw on a well earned win and Turbo for a good battle. See you guys next week, and Happy Thanksgiving coming up if I don't post before then.

Cheers,

Nick

Forced,

I've notice to that grid's seem to be more messed up as usual. I pole'd 8th or something in my div (I don't expect to qualify that great), but in another club race last night I was on the pole, but was placed 5th on a fastest first grid.

We have to stop changing rooms too close to qualifying. It was pretty clear the room was f-ed when it won't update standing during qualifying, had we changed room sooner - would've been clear before quali. I'd say no room changes after 20 minutes to the hour.

All key words right there. I knew the grid was messed up, but I didn't know how badly. Nobody spoke up, so I figure everyone was okay and I just went with it.

If people drop out and say something, then I'll know for sure and we can try to do something about it.

I'll type up a race report and post a vid of the final lap sometime tomorrow. What I will say is that I was in the lead in the final lap, lost it, had a John Deere moment, and then I made a move that I still can't believe I pulled off. :dopey:

The issue with the gridding is certainly very disappointing. I knew that Forced was P1 and I was P2 but I doubted whether anyone was going to believe me and my controller was too far away for me to send a quick message. I got placed in P6 but it certainly didn't hurt me as much.

So yes, I won but there was a competitor missing in the battle for the lead so it diminishes the thrill of victory somewhat. :guilty:

There needs to be a bit more structure to qualifying. It's easy to say that grid is screwed up if you know you have the pole. For people in the middle there's no way to tell if standings during quali are off. So I suggest the room host calling everyone back to the pits once the time is up and then exiting to the lounge and checking everyone's time and announcing how the grid should look like.

Lap leaders - Greennarcotics(10laps), Nastradamus(3laps), Nepalii(18laps), Carracerptp(1lap)

I think the lap leaders is correct. I didn't re-watch every minute of the race. If I am missing someone here please speak up.

I had some good battles with Carracerptp, TnJF, Minion, and Nastradamus.👍

I was unfortunately on the bad end of some dirty driving at the beginning. I started in the 2 spot and got poor jump off the line. This had me going about 2-3mph slower than the field. I gave room for spots 3 and 4 to get by. Go into turn 1 apex one car length off the car in front of me. I get driven into hard on my passenger door from the #7 starter, on turn 1. WTF.

After failing to brake appropriately for turn 1, this person instead of backing off, continues to use me as a wall. And hits me a few more times before exiting the turn. Then I manage to gather myself up, and make a good run through turn 2. Guess what happens to me there... This time the #7 starter comes down on me, and I have to kill my speed to keep both of us on the track.

The response I got for turn 1 is that I slowed too much.. Are you kidding. Its turn 1, everybody slows too much. There are too many people going into 1 to banzai the corner. I was 1 car length off the car in front of me. Where am I supposed to go?

So now after 3 turns I am in seventh place. I managed to have some good battles from there. Got myself back up to second place with about 10 to go, where Nastra and I had some good clean racing. On the final lap, I made too many mistakes, and Nastra drove to second place. There is a good chance he would have had me anyways. Good drive Nastra.

I think my hosting of the room went fairly well. I had some help with the guys as far as getting the room settings correct. Everyone seemed to have a decent connection except for poor Greennarcotics. I have seen the above replays, and mine looked exactly like Nastradamus' did. Wish all of our internet connections could just get along.

I am thankful that even after the dirty start to my race, I found some good clean drivers to race with.👍

I immediately noticed this when I booted up the replay.

...

I learned fairly quickly to take it VERY easy in the first corner. It's a good idea, for me at least, to do several practice starts from the line so I know my brake point for the first corner on the first lap. My driving is far from perfect (As Turbo himself can attest to ), but I try to keep in mind that this is FMSC, not BTCC. ;)

I'm really not sure if I would have gotten you. I was not consistent at the last three corners so I could have easy blown the overtake on the straight before the finish line. For this reason I was looking for any passing opportunity on the last lap. We had a good connection and similar pace so I was able to follow really closely without hitting you, which made it A LOT of fun. We were bumper to bumper for most of the race and didn't make contact once. Much respect! 👍
The "real" grip reduction seems to be what got you in end. We were side by side going into that left hander, but you just came off the grass and had no grip. I've been on the receiving end of that before. :D

Last week, the margin of victory for the D2 race was 0.058 seconds so how can that be topped?

With a margin of victory of 0.057 seconds! That only means a margin of victory of 0.056 seconds for Spa!

Enjoy! :)

Nice one outlaw that was a good idea going down the inside on the last corner, always seemed really hard for me atleast to setup an overtake coming out of that corner. Anyway congrats on your win outlaw 👍

Great race outlaw.

A horrible race for me. I had a bit of lag issues going on, and then company arrived, and since I am in the living room, I couldn;t get away. I did pull a nice qual lap. It said I was ranked 8th on the screen but started 11th. Its fine. Hopefully Spa will treat me better. I do apologize to anyone if I got in your way.

Twin Cities Division 3 Race Results:

Got the total times for everyone? I can add them up using a time calculator, but it's a bit tedious.

Edit: And were there more than 10 people in the race? (anyone DNF or DC?)

Proof that you can pass anywhere when you put your mind to it. ;)

Aderrrm, how many laps were on your tires when you pulled that?

Carracer does it matter he can do laps like that all day long  and I was actualy pretty chuffed doing a 35 in a track I completely detested :P

Edit: I think Aderrrms best spa lap is around 2:38-2:39.... atleast from our practice races my PB was a low 2:40.....

Erm... 2 I think. Was on my second stint. Did a cracking 33.5 lap after that aswell but went 4 wheels wide at T10/11 which cost me loads of time.

Thanks, I could only dream of low 34 second laps on lap 4. My tires and car seemed to match up on that lap.
I did a 33.9 in a draft, I really can't imagine doing .6 faster with no draft...

I think I saw a 2.36 in a regulation room.
