Kind of bored so I thought I'd start my own thread and update regularly with news about Football. I'm a huge College Football fan so there will be quite a bit of College FBS Football, but there will be a lot of NFL news too.. Let me know what you think of it. So might as well start.
Urban Meyer Signs to Ohio State
Not to Urban Meyer, but the fact I'm a Wolverine fan. So probably the worst kept secret. It was announced yesterday (11/28/11). Personally I think this will end badly for Ohio State. Don't misunderstand me though, I think Urban Meyer is a fantastic coach. I just don't think he's the right type coach for Ohio State and Big Ten football. Why? Urban Meyer runs the Spread offense. Michigan last coach, Rich Rodriguez, ran the same style offense. Know how it turned out? Well I'll give you a hint, Brady Hoke (Michigan's new coach) has more Big Ten wins in his first season than Rich Rod in his three seasons at Michigan. Back to Meyer and OSU. Big Ten football is very Pro Style offense. Big, powerful offenses that directly relate to producing NFL type players. I'll honestly admit Denard Robinson will not be an NFL QB (Well Tebow did?

It appears though that Urban Meyer already seems to have a good spread styled QB in Braxton Miller, I just don't think he will be able to run against the oncoming big defenses that will begin to show up a Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin. And now things get even tougher with Nebraska in the Big Ten (although they won't be playing every year). Urban Meyer is one of the finest coaches out there. I just don't think he's the right person for the job. Maybe he'll prove me wrong.
