hey all,
I decided to reg to be a member because I was looking for a prize car list.. much to my HUGE surprise there's quite a following of GT4 still~!! WOW! Which is interesting to say the least since I thought PS3/GT5 would have put this game to bed by now!
As for the title and those who are just picking up to play GT4, and are looking for tips into B-Spec, plz read carefully this is just a first hand experience with a bit of research into the GT4 itself.
I can't A-SPEC any more since I've played all the GT series since the first one and have since gotten carpentunnel in my right thumb. I have played GT4 B-SPEC since I bought it 5 years ago. (there's a thread 'you know you've played GT4 to much when..") LOL..
Onward I say~! Yes, there IS a quick way to get your B-SPEC up w/o even going into ANY of the regular events i.e Beginner Events.. however.. here's what I've discovered with a bit of research..
A). Playing GT4 B-SPEC was designed to play 2 ways (IMO) the very linear way which is you race all the tracks (not the events) to gain max B-SPEC skills to give you the edge on the events.. OR..
B). Playing to have fun! Yep, after realizing that gaining B-SPEC skills from just playing normally thru the events, tracks, missions, I've gained the exact same pts or nearly as, I would have running the tracks w/o the events.
GT4 is truly a racers love affair! I decided to do both at around 6-7k B-SPEC points of just running the tracks w/o events; after running ALL the tracks using the guide I found using Google, (it's on there trust me just have to dig a little and I'm sure someone here can helps you or still has the link ) I decided to stop and start the events.. having 6-7k in B-SPEC points truly helped my driver A LOT and gained a bit of an 'edge' .. thus, attacking the Apex, passing etc..
In reality, you don't get to be a pro racer unless you DO race A LOT of events or even practice a lot, right? No one is a born pro.
I believe GT4 was designed exactly that way... to have fun but, be challenging enough for us 'arm chair' and real-life racers to truly enjoy what racing is all about..some say it's not about winning .. I say BS~! but in racing IT IS ALL ABOUT WINNING.. you can't be 2nd and WIN.. there's first and no other.. ;D
So, if you're having a bit of trouble in B-SPEC with your driver smashing into walls and you find yourself throwing a 40$ controller on the couch.. ahem! or floor and cursing like a sailor, you might want to practice on the ALL the tracks, yea.. it's a pain but the rewards are awesome.. especially when you see other AI cars 'ALMOST' make that turn going over the bridge and then smash their front corner of their car and lose precious seconds just to see you disappear in the distance..![Smile :) :)](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/smile.svg?v=3)
Race your ass off to have fun, but race to gain skills as well.. there's NOTHING more annoying than to miss 1st place because you hit a wall at the last 1000 ft from the finish...there must be a balance.. ! and remember..there's always someone else better than you out there.. it may take awhile for you to see that, but, there is.. ;D
PS: you know you played GT4 too much when...
you start cussing at your B-SPEC driver w/ 'WTF .. ****.. I just **** raced with **** track!" 10 min rage.. walk into the kitchen and see your wife & 2 daughters looking at you in shocking horror and ask if your ok ?? .. yep .. you've played too much GT4.. LOL
