Post your odd cars here. Forget the RUFs, Zondas, Veyrons, and other cars everyone knows are fast. This is a thread for people who like to max out truly uncommon cars.
One of my favorite maxed-out cars is my Chevrolet SSR which I tuned up to overkill the pickup seasonal. I took it to a game of Cops and Robbers earlier today and earned comments like "daaaaaaaaang, that thing is fast" (drafting past someone's supercar while chasing the robber, as I recall... that must have been an interesting moment on his part). It's too bad not many people tune this truck. If I weren't too lazy to bother chaning the settings a little, I could probably turn it into an absolute monster. It's reasonably useful in the online drags, as well, but the 4spd trans is an issue. And I don't care for the whining introduced by the FC trans.
One I just did today is an Eagle Talon right off the used lot. It can top 200mph given enough room (and a draft), but the turbo lag is horrible, making it hugely ineffective in the fast paced world of cops & robbers. You might keep up with the supercars once the boost is up, but it takes so long to spool up that everyone's left you behind before you can start moving. Tomorrow I might experiment a little with the gears to help fix the problem.
I also just did a Countach LP400... it may not be a particularly good looking car, but it howls like a banshee and goes 210mph. My decision not to further uglify it with a spoiler makes going around curves at those speeds a rather dicey endeavor though. I didn't get much time to test it out online tonight, and the few races I did get were mostly against Veryrons and X1s, so its true viability against less overpowered cars (Corvette, Viper, etc.) is yet to be truly measured.
Another of my favorites is my BMW 135i, which is actually not maxed out (only Stage 1 engine tuning, sports: soft tires, stock trans, one of the drivetrain parts is not the best). It's done up in Nissan Ultimate Opal Black (which unfortunately lost most of its purple shift in the process of being applied to a different car) with matching wheels, and it drives so beautifully that it doesn't even need racing tires. The one time I was a robber today was on Autumn Ring Mini, and I was only seriously threatened once. The car was so unbelieveably epic that they had to run a test to see if it was under their 450hp limit for robbers (it was, though I had to switch to a lower-level turbo to get it there). Again, this was on sports tires. I LOVE THIS CAR!
I've recently done out a Dodge Challenger SRT8 (using semi-racing exhaust IIRC for better sound, and a stock trans), which is actually quite a useful car in the online drags. I had a very, very good race tonight against a worked-on C5 Z06, we stayed more or less even right up to 190-200 mph! I think he might have started to pull away near the end of the tunnel, but it was still a great race.
One of my first "oddball cars" was a dark red (Rosso Rubino?) Brera with black (I think it's Blauschwartz) wheels and carbon fiber hood. It's actually an awesome looking car, but I started the buildup when my money hadn't yet hit seven figures. It needed the FC trans, but I couldn't afford it, so it just kind of fell by the wayside.
I know that not all of my cars are successful, but I love going to the online drags (and cops & robbers) in obbball cars, and actually competing pretty well. I'm currently looking for a Neon SRT4, Taurus SHO, and PT Cruiser with relatively low mileage in my used lot, and at some point I'll have to revisit the Brera as well.
With that said, what are some of the more unusual cars you've modded out and enjoyed?
