I remember reading about these cars many years ago when they were first released and thinking that this is the Capri that Ford should have sold in the UK.

Jeff Uren was a former British champion race driver and ex Ford Motorsport Team Manager. He produced his own line of ultra-hot Fords - most famously the Cortina Savage which was a Cortina MK2 1600E fitted with a Weslake tuned Ford V6. The cars didn't just have much more powerful engines than regular Fords - they were re-engineered in all performance areas including the braking and suspension.

At the time the Capri Stampedes fitted with Boss 302 Mustang engines were one of the hottest rides available. I like how the Press release lists the M.P.G as Shoosh!

The Capri Stampede by Jeff Uren was very similar to the Ford Capri Perana from South Africa. 500 were made by Basil Green Motors fitted with the Ford 302 Windsor V8 and were very successful in South Africa in both rallying and touring car racing - winning the championship in 1970 and 1971.

Here's a clip of this great car - by the way either the Stampede or Perana would be a great addition to the game, but the Perana is better known worldwide and many more examples were made.
