After a hiatus of almost 11 years, The Ford GT returns, but this time it is shaped like a teardrop. The new Ford GT will run on a V6 Engine, discarding the V8 engine that the previous 2005-2006 model had. The 2nd Generation Ford GT contains a 7 speed dual clutch transmission (The previous model had a 6 speed manual), and a 3.5 Liter Ecoboost V6 Engine. The new GT's rivals are 2017 Acura NSX, BMW i8, Audi R8, Lamborghini Huracan, Ferrari 458, and the McLaren 650. The new GT was revealed to the world in the 2015 North American Auto Show for the Video game, Forza Motorsport 6. It will mark 50 years since the GT40 won the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans and is expected to run in the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans to mark the anniversary.
